The Federal Capital Territory Administration says the improved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2024 Budget will bring about a 61 per cent increase in the Nation’s capital’s health sector and reduce brain drain, also known as Japa syndrome.

The mandate secretary of the Health and Human Services Secretariat, FCTA, Dr Adedolapo Fasawe, disclosed this to journalists at a scientific conference by the Association of Resident Doctors FCTA on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to her, the N27.5 trillion budget christened ‘renewed hope’ will bring about drastic infrastructural development in the FCT health sector and improved well-being for doctors and all health workers.

“The budget is an increase over the last budget. We believe this will translate to a 61 per cent increase in our health indices, better equipment in our hospital, and we will be able to employ more doctors in FCTA.

“For every doctor who leaves the system, we replace the person. As people leave, we also have people looking for Jobs. Most people leave not because of poor salaries or poor working conditions but because they don’t have the right equipment to work at times. We hope the Japa syndrome will reduce with the improved budget, the right equipment, and expansion of our hospitals and better roll-call”.

Earlier, the Senator representing FCT, Ireti Kingibe of the Labour Party (LP), begged doctors in Abuja not to relocate abroad.

Represented by Juliet Essien, a clinician, Ireti said the FCT will continue to receive improved budgetary allocation for its health sector.

“Let’s stay in Nigeria; we can fix the country”, he said.

Also, the President of ARD, FCTA, Dr Rahman Olayinka, urged the government to declare an emergency in the country’s health sector.

.ng reports President Tinubu presented the 2024 budget to the National Assembly last Wednesday.

A budget breakdown showed that the country’s health sector got N1.33 trillion, representing 5 per cent of the total budget.

The development comes as The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, also presented an N61.6 billion Budget to the lawmakers.

Was Agbado buffoons included in the budget to take care of the lingering hunger and starvation inflicted upon their father's?

Was Ronu put into consideration at all in the 2024 budget?

Was a special package mapped out for the yoruba nation to benefit and enjoy in the 2024 budget because they put this government in power?

What is the benefit of a yoruba man in this government?

The budget that will bring hardship to pensioners cos of the over 20 percent reduced in their allocation will never encourage new workers to be happy or stay.

Nothing Nigeria is capable of doing can stop japa in the health sector. Only personal reasons or inability to japa can stop people

Only 5 percent of the budget goes to health which is far below the minimum recommendation by the W.H.O.
When you consider the fact that most of our hospitals are moribund with no equipments to work with, you would realize the above statement is just paper talk.

To know that there's no collective idea to solve the pnenomenal problem called NAIJA..... there's no mention on how to improve the basics which makes an ordinary Nigerian wake up and makes the choice to leave.
No security, no food, the education..confusing....etc.
Na only doctor dey the country...?!
APC will.fall like the NAZIs..... they'll know when it's coming...only that they would have instilled an evil that would be hard to scrape away

Ask yourself, why is everyone leaving, why the brain drain, I left 10 years ago, it’s hard to say but life make more sense when you come over, an electrician earn more than an corporate worker, same as a waiter, odd jobs give you meaningful life if you have strength to hustle, meaning who no go school can still start real estate in Nigeria. That’s why people are leaving. My boss is a sr data scientist in the company, he never had a university degree till date.

Me Wey Dey work under am, did masters to enter the country. Masters in data science. I never use the degree work, na experience I take Dey grow in my data field.

Thats how the abroad works. It’s working.

Your president comes here to do medicals. You feel say e no fit do am for Lagos Wey e build? Meaning himself no believe in his structure.

Forget religion, ethnicity, tribe ,etc, first we are HUMANS.

Ask why are they treating the masses bad. Why?

I know someone who I believe will Amount to agbero if e Dey Nigeria, he come uk 2016, his life changed, he doing really well for himself, married with 2 kids, person Wey no get life for Nigeria before, a hood cultist. Rough guy.

Until Una shine tribalism. NIGERIA WILL BE USED
