Silverbird chairman, Ben Murray Bruce, was yesterday screened out of the Bayelsa governorship race by the Gubernatorial Screening Appeal Committee of the PDP in Bayelsa State, for possessing dual citizenship.

According To LIB, The committee only cleared three candidates; Youpele Kalango, Christopher Enai and Henry Seriake Dickson as eligible candidates to contest in the upcoming Guber election.

The panel also excluded the name of current governor of the state, Timipre Sylva, for allegedly operating foreign accounts.

Funny!!!

@OP Bukola Saraki as dual citizenship, so also governor Ajimobi, so why screen out Ben Bruce for dual citizenship, it doesn't add up. The two mentioned above should never have been given tickets to contest elections in the first place if I follow the logic of pdp's screening committee's argument.

Gov Ajimobi should watch out PDP are coming for him, dissing Ben Murray is setting a precedence against Ajimobi if his case comes up in court.

^^ I have mentioned it severally that Nigerians and her so called power elite are alienated, emotionally and psychically disconnected to the country hence existence of rabid and mindless corruption, other unpatriotic activities, such as - foreign bank accounts, foreign schooling for children in Nigeria(British/American International) and abroad, dual nationality because you don't believe in Nigeria etc. It is endless. We are going nowhere so long we have quasi foreign oriented persons running the so called country Nigeria. You put your money where you have faith/belief in sad.

Its a very sad development that Bruce was disqualified on the basis of his dual citizenship. What has dual citizenship to do with becoming a governor or president. The law does not forbid anyone with a dual citizen status from contesting elections and on this I'm disappointed in GEJ
