Criticizing the allocation as a misplaced priority amidst economic challenges, the party demands detailed clarification on the exorbitant spending plan. In a statement by State Publicity Secretary Olusegun Olusola Adewara (Sholyments), the PDP questions whether the intention is to demolish and rebuild or if undisclosed factors are inflating the renovation cost during a period of economic hardship.

The PDP emphasizes concerns over the earlier closure of the Hotel, handed over in good condition by the PDP's administration, highlighting what they perceive as a threat to Kwara state's legacy and a lack of policy direction. Expressing skepticism about the government's intentions, the party insists on transparency, especially considering the state's deficiencies in infrastructure and social amenities vital for attracting investors.

Strongly condemning the alleged illegal auctioning of Kwara Hotel properties by the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led government, the PDP accuses the APC of sidestepping due process and disregarding transparency norms. Terming it a "sponsored looting spree," the party raises doubts about the integrity of the process and the responsible use of public resources.

The PDP further demands accountability for the N17 billion reportedly kept in a secret bank account for over three years by the governor. Describing the lack of transparency surrounding these funds as deeply troubling, the party insists on a comprehensive account of the funds' status, the bank it was kept in, and the accrued interest.

In the face of citizens' economic hardships, the PDP urges Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to reconsider the stance on Kwara Hotel, calling for an explanation of the renovation plans and whether the hefty budget is for demolishing and rebuilding or renovating the existing structure.
