The date of Nigeria's breakup is always being pushed forward. Fact is, Nigeria is going to exist in 2123, because at the end, most people benefit more from a united Nigeria than a disunited Nigeria. Biafra is a pipe dream. No, it is, and it is because eastern minorites are still annoyed with the Igbos. Most minority tribes are invested more in one Nigeria than in division, where they would be at the mercy of the big tribes , as it was before the British came. Hausas and Yorubas too, as well as Fulanis. Even the Igbo elite. Yes, no one likes the idea of one Nigeria. But it is unfortunately the least bad of a large set of bad options. The problem with Nigeria is that we are trying to run a supposedly large economy on a tiny financial base that is decimated by corruption and stealing, which everyone does. And we don't want to do industries because it means a long period of suffering, and that's not what independence was sold to us as...no, independence meant more kudy in our pocket. Did not happen, because it was not possible. But we still believe the lie...somewhat. Anyway, most of the secessionists know how to do protests. Actual political agitation for secession, they know not. Once it is election, they all line up behind PDP and APC. Am yet to see a party formed that would at the very least promise restructuring now...which could lead to secession. Na to play revolution they all know. 3 Likes 1 Share |
