Annual New Year Prophecies: A Man-Made Tradition Or Inspired Of God? I believe it's not of God but a man-made tradition which many church leaders have embraced, hence why they rarely come to pass. What do you think? 5 Likes 1 Share

I couldn't also trace this practice to the Bible days, where God's prophets reeled out prophecies at a particular time of every year, including new years. They were given according to divine inspiration and God's own timing which doesn't cater to the traditions or timing of men. That's probably why they hardly failed. God bless. 14 Likes 1 Share |

They are not prophecies but permutations. In the Bible, God got his prophets to prophesy at regular intervals, but in Nigeria, they are released only at the start of the year. One person started it, others thought it was cool, copied it and it has now become a norm of Nigerian Christianity. The same way one lady started shaving off her real eyebrows just to draw fake brows with colored pencils and other girls copied it and today, it as a fashion norm. But what I don't understand is god's interest in premier league, APC, G5 and even impeachments; another thing I don't understand is why no one ever holds these pastors accountable when their permutations don't come to pass. 67 Likes 8 Shares |

Hehehe. You mean the ones god of men use to disgrace themselves . These shameless men come out every year to say things that never come to pass and common sense won't tell their church members that they are scam. God is not an author of confusion..., 1 Corinthians 14:33. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it, Isaiah 55:11 But most Nigerian prophets, almost every word that comes out of their mouth turns out to be false. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Most of our new generation church strive on fake prophecy in a bide to get more members. They don't care about the salvation of her members (members don't even care about theirs). 12 Likes 3 Shares |

We've now got a lot of wolves in Shepherd clothing and they're hell bent on giving the church a bad name, their sole aim is Fame, merchandising people and power grab. There's true prophecy from God but sadly the man made is much more. 7 Likes 1 Share |

If I prophecy now, they will say am a prophet of doom. 1) Nigeria will collapse this year 2) APC will divide 3) kidnappers will start targeting politicians 4) Bandits will overrun a state in the north 5) Naira will close at 2k after hitting 2700 6) MNK will come out this year still motivate ipob 6) fuel will hit 1k even as dangote refinery is running 7) Tinubu will go medical leave and Shettima will boost the economy to the amazement of many. Yoruba race and Fulani will clash in one of the states in the west. 9) BTC will hit 70k this year 10) A new type of storage battery will be invented this year that will crash the price crude oil. Let me reserve other prophecies as it does not concern Nigeria directly. Let's pray for a major politician in office not to kpai... About two of them 3 Likes |

It's Man made which every new year is used to motivate and inspire hope to the congregation! Individuals should also find the confidence and willpower to also create their own prophesy in line with God's word for the year! The church will always have theirs while individuals should also have theirs! 1 Like |

God always gives insight into what will happen. The issue is that alot of the prophecies are all faked based on research the previous years. 2 Likes |

Real prophets of God are not habitual speakers. They spoke when God told them to (when God had a message for His people). New Years Prophecy should be treated as declarations or prayers (and not magical divination or theatrical display). 2 Likes |
