As pathetic as your warped reasoning sound, I'm inclined to ask - why were this "noisy southern neighbors" given the lead roles in the same movie?
Why didn't the likes of your "de-sophisticated", hypocritical Z-list actors/actresses take up the role n fetch Funke same revenue?
Now here's free knowledge - Lionheart alone was sold for $3.8 million which was about 4.5 billion naira then.
Did you hear any "noisy southern neighbors" disturb your forebears and kids unborn about this figure back then?
Now Use the current forex yardstick to convert $3.8m quickly n see how your exposure to reading n writing is an utter waste of space and effort.

Internet slowpoke.

Perhaps he meant Easterners cox last I checked, SS people hardly get involved with Igbos vs Yorubas thing

Complete misinformation and pure delusion.

Lionheart alone was sold for $3.8 million which is about 4.5 billion Naira.

Cinema movie producers pay a lot to promote and hype their movies, in addition to their actual production cost, and the large percentage going to cinema houses and tax!

Their actual profit is a small percentage of the gross.

Netflix and cinema industry in Nigeria is not viable for economic and cultural reasons. That is why foreign movies still dominate Nigeria cinema.

Over 95% of nollywood fans still watch movies through Cable Television channels and YouTube.

Someone should tell this people that delusion does not build an industry.

I know you are ibo, hater of good things, just go hang yourself

What rubbish is this toad talking about? Keep hating on those that thought your ancestors how to read, write and wear pants.

The streaming and cinema system has circumvented the need for marketers. Some marketers are now investors who finance projects but they are bi more the gatekeepers they once were in the movie industry

In reality, Wedding party produced by Kemi Adetiba is the highest grossing Nollywood wood film if you consider the exchange rates at the times of production.

Wedding party produced in 2016 made N452million when exchange rate was about N390 per dollar. That gives us about $1.2 m dollars.

On the other hand, Funke Akindele's Children of Judah grossed N1B ( latest figure as at yesterday 5th January 2024) which in dollar terms is about $833k dollars (1 $= N1200)

Wow Mr lagbaja you dey nl
