U dey whine, nupe armies and oyo armies actually ransacked sokoto, that is what drew fulanis from what we call middle belts today where Nupes reside to core north.

And yes, Ilorin lost all their armies to oyo during ekiti parapo war, thats after they were seriously dealt with in osogbo war

Very wrong history, the Fulani, Nupe and oyo( Ibadan) were in alliance, and ransacked the Middlebelt together, at this time even Ilorin and Bida were under Fulani rule, were the hell do you people get these twisted histories from.

What do you mean by Oyo couldn't cross Ilorin, even amodu bello in his book "my life" said British met Ilorin as a Yoruba town and he believed Ilorin is a Yoruba town, they brought the the emir back from exile because they were the first to set up monarchial system there.

Moreover Jebba which is after ilorin is still a Yoruba town with Yoruba king from then till date

You right. Ilorin was a military outpost of the Oyo empire that became a town. The oyos had military outpost all over the present day yoruba land as far as Benin Republic.

All those location in different shades of red are Oyo empire. Arrow in blue showing Ilorin.

He did everything to make the western Nigeria small. Remember how he fought so that Lagos will not be in the western region. But God pass them.

You Know the Story!!!

Azikiwe did everything he knew just to frustrate the Referendum to return Kwara State to the Western Region because he knew the people of Kwara wanted to be United with their People in the West

Azikiwe Made sure they had the Mid west Referendum to Remove the area which is now Edo and Delta States

At the same time he made sure the FG he was part of refused to do the Eastern minorities and Kwara Referendum after they had Jailed Awolowo

Great Empires like the Yoruba Empire,Roman Empire,China Empire etc fought amongst themselves too.It was the norms then.
The Yoruba Empire fought to extend its territory, fighting and taking over Dahomey as it's vassal state. It extended up to Ewe in Ghana etc.
The (Yoruba)Oyo Empire was one of the longest lasting Empires in Africa.Spannibg more than 500 years before it's decline.

Did they extend to Kwara illorin? grin

Yes. Ibadan was the biggest military outpost of the empire. Majority of the break away warlords of the kiriji war like Ogedengbe of ilesha was trained in Ibadan. Ibadan and Oyo are inseperable.

Nnamdi Azikiwe was a very terrible enemy of SW. Thank God for Awolowo that never allowed him to rule SW, he would have destroyed SW.
He allowed the referendum that took away Midwest (Edo & Delta) from SW but suppressed the referendum of minorities from breaking away from SE and referendum of old Kwara from joining SW.

It all blew up in his face in the end

Ojukwu was copying his manipulations but Azikiwe Couldn't control Ojukwu who went overboard and tried to completely kidnap the Eastern Minorities altogether into his own New personal Country called Biafra
And even invaded the Midwest imposing one Major Okonkwo over them

It was Azikiwe's plan that Ojukwu was carrying.out using Military power when he saw that they had been completely outsmarted by the Northern Politicians who were on the Verge of dividing the Eastern Region with a Referendum for the Eastern Region Minorities

Azikiwe' was about to loose control of the Niger Delta people and Resources

It is a lie, most of the Yoruba wars were fought against Eastern Yoruba ( ijesha, ekiti,Akoko, even okun).
The wars were sponsored by Ibadan after the disintegration of oyo, mind you,oyo was never a powerful kingdom, the Nupe terrorised oyo and the Fulani eventually destroyed it's capital

Stop smoking that which numb the brain.

Those are very disgusting lies

The Yorubas of Kogi were even allies of the Igala and Egbira and together they defeated the jihad and sent it packing

There is no single Emirate in the Niger Confluence area Jihad

You will Travel 100km before reaching the nearest one

The Nupes fleeing jihadists poured into Yorubaland as refugees looking for Refuge from the Fulani Jihad and have since been absorbed into the local population

Balogun Oshodi Tapa of Lagos was one of them

Exiled Ibadan Warlord Ayorinde very successfully defended part of Kogi and Akoko from the Fulani
