Raskimonojendor: Interesting. Well, na individual preferences. P.S. With this kind of profile, you be Chief Tribalist. Chai! The white man must continue his dominance in the world. If he ever fails, the Chinese man takes over. |

Focusmind:That's because most engineering grads leave the country for masters abroad. They mostly will not come back due to higher standard of living in those countries. However, alot of my now retired professors at OAU finished from Urbana, Stanford, Yale e.t.c in the 1960s -1970s. They taught us in the early 2000s with outdated books and text as well. That means the Nigerian corruption also kills talent. A particular course, Engineering physics was set up in the era of Obasanjo in the late 1970, so that the graduates from the program can help build Nigerian nuclear power stations. Some of the graduate from that program ended up being lecturers at OAU and fell to the Nigerian system as well. One of the Drs then use to do rentals as side hustle to add up to his salary. If the guy had japa-ed back in the 1980s after graduation, his case might have been different, and he could have been rubbing shoulders with the likes of Barth Nnaji or Kunle Olotokun. |

Scholace:I believe that you are young so I will advise you to be careful with these incorrect statements you are making. Go and ask your lecturers where LASU gets her Vice Chancellors from and why they go to UNILAG to get VCs. I can't even understand your story about questions. You better go and study hard and finish in LASU with great grades and go for your masters in UNILAG. All those stories you are sharing have no meaning out there o. Face your studies. It's mostly those who don't meet up with the high admission criteria of UNILAG that end up in those schools. 2 Likes |

Raskimonojendor: Very apt! The sad reality of Nigeria! You are right with that " Engineering Physics " explanation. It was set up by OBJ, of which Shagari took it further to set up the four Federal Universities of Technology in Owerri, Akure, Bauchi and Minna to give effect to that Obasanjo's program. Sadly, the dream died the usual Nigeria way. |

BigDickProblems: You didn't graduate with first class. If you did you won't show this high level of low self esteem. We are talking about UNILAG. A of people have graduated with 5.0 across the faculty of Engineering in Nigeria. It's not new. First class get class 2 Likes |

CHRISTFUCKER: LOL! This is something I have been following in recent years. I dare say no university in the east has convoked a 5.0 graduate, and schools in the SW convoke more first class graduates than their counterparts in the east. Na because I dey tied up, I already have an manuscript I had written. I just needed to input the data (already available) and make it an article. Again, no university in Eastern Nigeria has convoked a 5.0 student. LASU, Unilag and Covenant and I think Babcock have done so. I am cocksure of the first three. If you disagree, show me evidence where they (universities in the east) have done. 1 Like 1 Share |

CHRISTFUCKER: Why do I need to do engineering before I say something that is fact-based? It is easier to graduate with a first class in numerical courses than non-numerical courses. That is an undisputed fact anywhere in the world. There is a Nairaland thread of OAU's BGS from the faculty of engineering, all had high CGPAs which made them the highest. Ayodele Dada (Psychology) of Unilag and the Law graduate from LASU are the only 5.0 graduates who did not do numerical courses in Nigeria. The girl from Covenant University did Computer Science, which is akin to mathematics. No be first class be issues , na whether if you finish school hope say you go day earn better money or get better work LOL! No first class grad, especially from numerical programs, who has access to information, acts on them and is diligent is unemployed. I am ready to die on this hill! Look at me , a forking schizophrenic Computer engineering grad earning more than a faangman engineer You don't earn anything. A physicist can work in a FAANG company. Why do I need to know your academic program and where you work? I don't care how much you earn. I honestly do not. Your salary has no basis in this conversation. |

BigDickProblems:it's very possible sir, I'm also in engineering Unilag. There are scholars and crazy minds here Alot of them, something about Unilag is they merit you any score you deserve and really worked for. A is 70/100 so how is not possible for a scholar not to get 70 out of 100? There are people who Sabi and breathe in this book. 3 Likes |

What madness -379 first class? Just to the peril of the academia. Is this generation found to be more brilliant, intelligent and resourceful than older generations? Not at all. You need to see them at work and volunteering..... |

When I first saw the number, I felt that they gave away first class too cheap in Unilag. But after I did my calculations, they are less than 5% of the total number of graduants. I hope they can create their own jobs? Only very few get good job these days. |

NairaMaster1: Why the same school every time? That guy is worth first-class but 5.0 CGPA in Engineering is ridiculous. 2019 best Law school student was a 2:1 from Babcock, where was all those inflated first-class students from Unilag that year? 2 Likes 2 Shares |

BigDickProblems: It's easier to get first class 5.0 in Engineering than any other course if you're brilliant. Education is not difficult especially these days of AI and IoT. Piece of cake if you're brilliant. Once you have a track record from 100level it pays off for you. People meet you for tutorials even if you don't know it and you will never forget what you teach. So your fellow students push you to get a 5.0. Yes it's not easy, if you have distractions. With a little focus and brilliant mind, you get it done. 1 Like |

kalan: Bro. You are joking. Check out those who go for Engineering. They are usually the smartest ones. Yet, not all of them makes 1st class. So what are you saying? Most of them who didn't make that first-class in Engineering will likely find it easy making a first class in other science courses. |
