Bandits Release 7 Victims To Raise Over N20m Ransom For Others In FCT by NLCreator: 6:43am On Jan 15
Bandits have released seven of the 23 kidnapped victims from Kawu in Bwari Area Council of the FCT to go and raise over N20 million as ransom for the other victims.

Recall that City & Crime reported that bandits last Wednesday night invaded and whisked away 23 persons, including four children, from Kawu.

A resident who preferred to remain anonymous who disclosed this to City & Crime yesterday gave the names of one of the released victims as Alhaji Alhassan Sidi (Marafa of Kawo) whose four children were still in captivity.

Also released is Alhaji Gambo S. Fawa (Sarkin Fawa), who was freed along with his two wives, as well as a young man.

The resident said, “They were released with conditions to provide over N20m along with two special motorcycles before the rest of the victims will be freed.”

A relative of one of the victims, Ibrahim Tanimu Kawu, who spoke with our reporter on Sunday, said the four victims were released on Friday evening in a forest which bordered the FCT and Kaduna State.

He said, “Today at about 7am the kidnappers’ leader called through the telephone and we heard how the children were crying as they were beating them. What is more disturbing is that two among the children are between the ages of 13 and 12.

“But the families are confused on how to raise the N20m as there is no property to sell, and even the farmlands, nobody is coming to price them.”

Reacting to the development, the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, in a statement, said: “The NPF is actively engaging and contacting individuals crucial to the rescue operations and investigation. The objective is not only to bring perpetrators to justice, but also to intensify efforts in rescue operations for victims still in captivity.”

The regional security arrangements in the East and West reasonably pushed them out of operation there. Though a few elements still remain there, especially in the West. Hence they now concentrate in middle belt and up North

Hmm

Do you know the dangerous implication of this?
More criminals and bandits will see FCT as a lucrative place to kidnap people.

They will believe FCT residents will always contribute money..

My advice everyone brace up, it's gonna be one hell of a ride from here on.

What a 3rd world country.

We need massive protest in the North against these bandits just as they do for Palestinians.

North Central need to put religion and politics aside and form a security network just like Amotekun and ESN to curb these Fulani invaders.
The bandits now see kidnapping as normal business because our security architecture has been compromise with terrorist sympathizers.

Some local government in Niger State are under the control of bandits for over 2 years, they even have the mind to be collecting taxes from the indigenes and Government is not doing anything about it.

No they don't understand. You think all those donating money have sense? A terrorist can never have sense.

This is what happens when you spoonfeed criminals.
Kill them. Those that survive, show a public execution of them as a deterrent.

This is how APC government have transformed the FCT under Tinubu and Wike, to a den of petty vicious criminals. This should not be heard of in a capital city, which is supposed to be the safest place in the country. angry

An attack or crimes committed in the FCT should be sophisticated and terro linked crimes that would give the security agencies tough time, but what we have now is all manner of criminals that could easily be tracked and dealt with having a field day, while the security agencies sleep and snore away from their duties. This shows how bad Nigeria has retrogressed.

The police is very slow at getting intelligence on bandits but fast on # No gree for am #

Bandits will collect the money and the motorbike, use the motorbike in the community and there will be no intelligence report.
It is a shame

The South East used the anger they had for Buhari mostly keeping them out of his govt to unleash terror on the Fulani terrorists and they fled, even me I shock when I saw some videos of what they did to captured bandits
