I'm not sure of this news about Russia taking back Alaska because in the past, Putin has said it was not necessary for Russia to look at that direction. I will check from some trusted sources the authencity of the news.

This could be a fears mongering tools to create false alarm and push the house to allocate funds for Ukraine which Biden has been struggling to get done recently.

Again such a move will not help Russia now as it will be used as moral booster for West to keep supporting Ukraine with an unending funds.

However Ukraine is far more powerful and more economically viable to both Sweden and Finland combined. Listen to Germany vice chancellor on his speech early this month. Military wise, Ukraine is also a strategic location. That Odessa port and the entire region can not be used as a military base against Russia by her enemy.
If you are Russia and you have the means to stop it, you will stop it.
