The justification for the relocation of some departments in CBN and FAAN should be managed by PBAT as a highly sensitive issue to his political career and internal security of the country.

The 1966 counter-coup and later the civil war was amplified as a result of the Supreme Military council's decree on Unification which the northerns perceived as a military policy to take power from Northern region and concentrate power in the centre which had the capital in Lagos State.

This misinterpretation of the Unification decree led to the counter coup masterminded by then Lt. Col. T.Y Danjuma, Lt. Col. Muritala Mohammed and Major. Adamu with the support of the Northern elite.

The policy was well intended but misinterpreted by the North and it cost Agunyi Ironsi his government and ultimately a million lives were lost during the biafran war.

PBAT should treat this matter with utmost sensitivity. My opinion is that any issue that further polarises and pitch the north against the south should be avoided now.

The northerners are more apprehensive on ethnic and religious issues.

Wider consultation should be adopted.

Besides the revenue collection that was centralised and ports that Nigeria give Lagos.
Once all the coastal states open seaports and shipping of containers is decentralised, that's all Lagos won't see any money that they are bragging. Say that to illiterates pls.
If Igbos and Hausas are allowed to have direct shipping do, Lagos will never match their success but they keep bragging, just remove FG Investments in Lagos and see what lagos will turn to.

I can't understand how the relocation of certain depts in CBN and relocation of FAAN to Lagos affects members of the public adversely so much as to elicit such outbursts and complains from NEF and notable northerners.

What is their fear? Why are they worried?

CBN is independent of government on such decisions and the management must have their reasons for the move. They don't need to justify it to the public.

The man has a point.

Abuja by the virtue of it's geographical location at the center of Nigeria and it's role as the capital city of Nigeria is the mist detribalised city that actually unites all Nigerians, unlike Lagos where yoruba people no wan gree say 'na no man's land'. It makes sense that the headquarters of all Federal Parastatals should be in Abuja; otherwise, kukuma scatter the agencies and Ministries to many states.

Tinubu ought to have maintained the status quo.

If the current CBN's building in Abuja is no longer enough to contain staff nothing stops them from building or renting another office in the same Abuja for additional staff they have.

Moreover, in this age of internet, zoom meetings, whatsapp video calls, CBN staff in Abuja doesn't even need to come to Lagos for any thing when they can request for electronic version of whatever documents they need from any bank anywhere in Nigeria while staying in Abuja

U people are stupid if u think Tinubu is the type of president u dictate to u need to have ur heads check.

He who must come to equity must come with a clean hand.

During Buhari 8yrs regime in office as Nigeria president I don't remember when the north come out in open to express displeasure over lopsided appointments of mostly northern individuals with so much criticism from the south but always on the deaf air of the president and his beneficiaries.

What is the business capacity of Onitsha or Kano compare to Lagos?

It reek of evidence of sabotage against the administration of president Tinubu by certain northern individuals but trusty Tinubu he's not a to joke with when it concerns what he wants.

U can cry me a river but trust me he will do what he wants and he will achieve same.

The southern idiots who should be up and doing going head to heads with their northern counterparts defending the president decisions are all seating duck watching like rabbits, this is what the north is at defending their own over decisions in their favor.

Why would you move a federal government property to Lagos when it's no longer capital city if not for some regional benefits against other regions??

At the same time, you are asking people to leave Lagos and go back to their places but you are quick to support relocation of agencies and establishments that are set up with the money of everyone especially those you are asking to leave Lagos state, are you not supposed to do some self reflection to know what you truly want as a people?

I think what the CBN governor wants to achieve here is to reduce their overhead cost. For instance, all banks are headquartered in Lagos and Lagos is where almost 70% of banking activities in the country take place. Now look at it, because of proper supervision, cbn staff will come to Lagos to supervise these banks and collect out of station allowances and hotel accommodation running into millions of naira. At times, they will be in Lagos for 2 to 3 months. I see this as a waste. When they go back to Abuja, the money they collect is at times 4 of their monthly salary.
And you think this move guarantees such wastage would cease?

I don't see any genuine justification for the relocation.

Seriously are you high on drugs. Those 2x2 shops move more dollars that all the moribund industries in Ikeja and Oregun. That market is the largest market in West Africa by trading volume moreso that people come as far as Central Africa Republic, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, Mali and Burkina Faso to trade in Onitsha main market.NIWA stated 60% of good entering Nigeria from Lagos ports ends up in Onitsha.

Keep fooling yourself and your fellow villagers, I am sure you never step out of your Onitsha, get information online and stop embarrassing yourself.

Let me educated you a little, so you can stop embarrassing yourself, trading is just a little aspect of commerce, and even in the so called trading, your Onitsha village no reach Lagos.
