On the request of the family of the Late Abasifreke John Jeremiah (Ab Jerry Jerry), I am publishing the photo of his corpse publicly.

Attached to this post are photographs of the late Abasifreke John Jeremiah, a rising Nigerian wrestler from Akwa Ibom State while he was alive and after he died in questionable circumstances.

The late wrestler went to Bayelsa State on 10th December, 2023 for training preparatory to a wrestling competition.

His family was informed on 28th December, 2023 that he “drowned” on 27th December, 2023 after a boat he was traveling with capsized.

Curiously, the people who reported his death to his family and claimed to have recovered his corpse refused to send a photograph of his body to his family for identification despite repeated demands.

The family eventually obtained the attached photograph of the corpse through an anonymous source which raised fundamental questions on the claims that he drowned and raises reasonable suspicion that he may have been murdered.

As you can see, the gory photograph of the corpse shows visible signs of deep cut in the neck and a bloodied body.

I petitioned the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command on behalf of the father of the deceased who is a retired Superintendent of the Nigeria Police Force to demand a thorough investigation and a coroner’s inquest.

I also wrote to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, the Attorney General of Akwa Ibom State and the Commissioner for Youth and Sport in Akwa Ibom asking for their intervention in ensuring that justice is done in this case.

Those who should be questioned are evading police invitations and playing hide and seek. No one has been arrested or questioned till date.

The family suspects that there are ongoing plans to compromise investigation into this case.

The family is demanding justice.

Say no more. Their refusal to send his picture to his family signals something. The refusal is even more suspicious than the cut on the body because somethings can actually result in such a cut during an accident.

Mohbad's wife has not been interrogated till date. The boys who were seen with Mohbad's lifeless body in a video have not been found and interrogated.

Since those at the helm of affairs would never act until their asses have been dragged on social media, don't blame citizens who resort to self help.

I think the motive here is to preserve hard evidence.
Methinks the picture was simply sent "as is" without editing or any other mutilation that might become a lawyer's hoop in court.

When one is drowned till death, he/she must have consumed a lot of water and that leads to swollen body when recovered.
From the picture I see a neck bn slit, first sign of murder and close to his private part another sign showing part of his skin was off.


This is Murder and should be investigated.

This guy was actually murdered going by the graphic pic, only God knows how he was killed, I just hope that this case thoroughly investigated.....

From the body it is obvious the man was murdered, there's no question about that.

The throat look as if it was slit, in a very crude way, I might add. Those who informed the family that the man drowned should be invited for questioning. The Police should declare man hunt or create social media awareness about them, so they can be apprehended. Hiding won't solve their problem. If they don't have anything to hide, why hide or evade Police invitation for questioning.

May the soul of this young man rest in peace and may those who took his life, never have cause to know peace in their entire life, amen.

Judging from the cut on his neck there is obvious foul play. The police should do the needful. So sad.

Dont send your children to anything to do with government. Unless your child is willing to go all the way, lest the child return in body bag.

Homicide was committed here. If the police carry out proper investigation, they will figure out what actually happened.

One thing is sure, this picture does not depict someone that drowned. He apparently died before thrown into the water.

Lawyer should be demanding an autopsy first.
The neck signs look suspicious but that's why autopsy report is demanded,some things you see with the naked eye may not be what it looks on thorough professional examination by a pathologist
