So Fire 🔥 Trucks can easily access buildings in case of emergencies.

I just hope mischievous people won't give this news an ethnic coloration.

They will. Trust Nairaland members for that. Once something happens in the southwest, even if it affects both Igbos and Yorubas, Nairaland Igbos will claim it's an attack on ndi igbo...

Whenever there's a market fire, it's the fault of the Lagos state government who "hates Igbos" and when they try to rectify it, it's "an attack on Igbo businesses".

That's the vicious cycle of accusations 🥴

grin grin cheesy those ones that specialise in AKUBE, okrika,Ugwu etc are grin grin
BitterTruth0001:

Actually this will mostly affect the indigenes and traders from the southwest. They’re the ones who operate from makeshift stalls, kiosks and shanties around that area

I know that place very well .

Igbo traders mostly rent shops in the actual buildings themselves

Nice one from Lasg.
Lots of streets are closed to vehicular movement due to shanty shops.

When will you tackle issue based on its objectivity and leave out igbo and yoruba.
Must everything be ethnicized?

Good one, highly commendable. A city like Lagos shouldn't have markets that look like an eyesore

I sense tribalism. But let them go home and display the wares ubiquitously and foolishly any how without obeying the regulations

Yes now.
All these so called illegal shops scattered all over Lagos pay taxes every single day to various agents of the state government, sometimes they're hardly able to break even.

Peter Obi winning Lagos was the most deceptive joker of the last election if that election was actually rigged. It made the whole thing look real and fair. I'm sure they allowed it like that, so that couldn't have been a source of pain.

It is mostly Yoruba petty traders that are in those shanties. I went there in December to by clothes for my daughter, you can get missing there easily.

The Chaos in that place, i wonder how the traders even locate their own shops.
