[EXCLUSIVE] How Gov Adeleke’s Negligence to Osun Healthcare Systems led to Adeoriokin’s death - ASLER

Engr. David Ayodele Asalu, widely known as Asler, has accused Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of negligence leading to the death of his friend, Dr. Richard Adelani Idowu (RAI). Asler claims that the incident could have been avoided if the state had prioritized quality healthcare.

According to Asler, after Dr. RAI was shot, attempts to secure prompt medical attention were hindered by the dysfunctional state of the State General Hospital in Ejigbo, which was reportedly short-staffed. Desperate to save Dr. RAI’s life, Asler and his companions sought help at a private hospital in Ejigbo, only to encounter further challenges, including the need to provide funds for fuel to power the hospital’s generator.

Expressing his frustration, Asler stated, “We lost an illustrious son to the dysfunctional state of our healthcare facilities, both public and private.” He highlighted that the State General Hospital, which should have been the primary choice, remained understaffed due to the cancellation of the recruitment of 1500 health workers made by Oyetola’s administration before he left office which has since then cancelled by the current administration.

“Ordinarily, the State General Hospital should be our go-to Hospital, but it is a known fact to every Ejigbo dweller that the Hospital is extremely short-staffed. This should have been corrected with the employment of 1500 Health Workers by the Oyetola administration, but the current government canceled the recruitment of the much-needed health workers. Since that step, the General Hospital in Ejigbo has remained a beautiful edifice without qualified hands to run it. This is unfortunate!" He said.
