When you think of the fact that Gowon became the Head-of-State of Nigeria in 1966 at the age of 29 and he didn't even know the meaning of the word "federation" (yes, I read an article about the meeting they had after the 2nd coup of 1966 - also called the counter-coup of 1966 - and one of the participants talked about making Nigeria a federation and Gowon asked him what it meant); then you will know most people on this site can "run" Nigeria as its leader. Though I will suspect "run-down" is the more appropriate word.

my idea is to save nigeria from a bloodly civil war. you can see the numbers of killing already. It tell you. I am right and the nigeria government wrong. You see, the satellite pictures. tell us alot about nigeria. and it expose many lies of the nigeria govt. including blackmail that have happen in the past.

btw, 2 or 3 of those posters may be the same.  lol.

I would support any of these to do the deed: Katsumoto, Kilode, Ajanlekoko, OlaOne, OAM4J, PhysicsMHD (just discovered from his post that he doesn't watch/understand futbol though! SMH), Naijababe, Debosky, Fstranger, Gbawe.

We can even add 2 more, and we'll have our knights of the round table.  A run-off between Cap28 (socialist), Ekt-Bear (capitalist), Dayokanu (hedonist) grin can be held.

l can do the job. I will imprison all the people in this list and release them one by one on my criteria like Buhari. Then I will close down Nairaland and jail Seun for libel. I will then enact a law backdated for two years to punish all those who posted bigotic comments on Nairaland. YES exactly like Buhari, like a true despot!

^^^ Fantastic ladies and gentlemen you all are! smiley Seriously, you're the BEST potential that has ever been for good leadership in Nigeria in a LONG while! Now, we (all of us here) will put a slant on thinking through and getting an appreciation for the best potentials for leadership in Nigeria.

Kindly indicate ANY level of leadership that you have been at and that you succeeded immensely. So for example, if you've been the director of a highly placed institute where you RAN such an institute successfully with proven records, that would be very good to know. Or, you've been involved in a political position in an environment where performance was key and the ultimate decider for commendation and progress in the place where you held sway. The reason why we need to put into perspective things like this is that to manage people is the hardest thing ever! Now, add the huge number of people in Nigeria, geo-socio-political issues, diversity of the citizenry, resources, issues like corruption, foreign relations on a mega scale and the picture gets clearer. It's for this kind of reason that some of people would have found that (outside Nigeria) as bright as you may be, in spite of your outstanding academic record, no renowned institution would hire you even as a team lead or lead scientist right out of university to lead people with even 3 years experience why you have approximately 0 leadership experience! Yes, even still with a first class or high grades! But leading a country is WAY, WAY more complicated than almost any other leadership positions you can think about, so let us chime in! Please indicate your level of leadership experience, no matter how small you think it is! Thanks and honest contributions are much appreciated!

MODS: Can you please change the title to reflect "(Now with Poll!)"? Thanks!

Honestly,Nigeria would be better off with strong institutions, not neccesarily strong leaders.
Re: Is Any Nlander Capable Of Running Nigeria As Its Leader? by saintohia: 8:24am On Nov 09, 2011
All I need is a month after which Nigerians will be the ones praying & begging I shld continue. I'm not boosting. I know the formular used & being used by Asians (expecially China & S. Korea) & the West to turn their economy around. Note: Asian had to think out of the box (plus other stuffs I wldn't mention here) to beat the Western game & develop, all these I'm a master in.

Also if some people must not exist for Nigeria to progress, make it happen.

If I'm given the chance to lead, my first goal will be to institute a compulsory re-orientation program, cos every nigerian is confused. No matter your education everyone wil be made to take a 3 months compulsory class on community responsibilty. after the three months course you will always take class every once in two weeks.

The next thing I will do is start an entrepreneurship empowerment across the country cos poverty and lack of jobs cause more harm here.

Then you can now talk about infrastructure and the likes,

Anyway, guys, I am a nairalander. I was 34 last monday, Nov 7. I am working towards having a place in governance by the age of 50, so help me God. My goal is to use the instrument of governance to change the lives of citizens positively.
Re: Is Any Nlander Capable Of Running Nigeria As Its Leader? by chineds(m): 11:54am On Nov 09, 2011
CAN I EVER GET THAT AUTHORITY TO LEAD? THE TRUTH IS MOST PEOPLE HERE MAY HAVE THE IDEA BUT IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY, THEY MAY NOT STAND THE CORRUPT BANDWAGON THAT WILL BE AN OBSTACLE.

MARK MY WORD, LET IT NOT COME TO ME BECAUSE I WILL SPARE NOBODY even if you are my direct blood. BELIEVE ME. IF YOU MUST CHANGE THIS NATION EVEN JUST 10%, YOU MUST
1: Be a radical
2: Must be ready to give up your own life (Yes, be ready to fight a cult that has grown so powerful, know that we all live to die someday)
3: Must be ready to take extreme decisions.
4: Must be ready to ignore international affiliations and prove your point.
5: Must not be interested in Immediate financial gains of leadership (This is the major reason why we have failed)
6: Must be a HARD MAN, (If you don't have a heart, forget it.)

For all these i mentioned, with the situation in this country, i have been made to posses these attributes.

DON'T ASK ME HOW AND WHY?

It is a thing of the mind

Lol, you don't need an a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction to 'correct some things' in Nigeria as you put it. You need a fair president who will listen to every one. So far GEJ is doing that pretty well. Change has come!

And that is why many of you scheming lots are trying to frustrate him.

We might as well go for Mark, David Mark, if power should go back to the 'North.'

PointB aka Ezeuche , you are quite a character. I must say I admire some of your post and It remains me of Someone important in alaigbo
with that said, when I said correct something; I did not mean you would be fair per say

correct something = Making Nigeria under Igbo supremacist rule

that was why I added the quotation mark

Not that it is bad persay but the problem is after some years, people would start complaining and moreover, those people you put in those position would be /might be as corrupt as HELL !!! but you don't care, so long as they are Igbos, you would be alright with that.

for example, you mentioned David Mark

Everyone knows David Mark is one of the most corrupt person in the country, In fact he is on the same league as OBJ and co but still you prefer David Mark because he is a Christian.

No one is trying to frustrate GEJ, GEJ is trying to frustrate US. If you are in Nigeria you would understand my point.

Not that he is that bad but So far the worst of all the president we have had in 12 years of democracy .
