Thought you all said there was no crude for Dangote to refine.

Is PH refinery going to import crude from Britain too?

Why not sell off that refinery and build another refinery? It's quite disturbing that the military built four refineries but democratic leaders cannot build one.
I keep telling people that Nigeria needs a military regime

Nope, it's not true. You are calling for military takeover because you weren't paying bills when those people were in charge. Those people are beasts!

Democracy may not be working well in Nigeria, but it has no substitute. We just have to fix it.

First off, we had one refinery by 1966, before the first millitary coup. The other three came under army rule.(and even Kaduna was commisioned under Shagari ).

Also, we don't have more refineries, because subsides on petrol (and until 2013, diesel, kerosene, etc), meant that the refineries did not earn a profit to keep running well, and private refining was rendered impossible, until Dangote came in.

After all, we have had 60 licences issued for refinerieis, of which less than 7 have been taken to the next level. WHy would someone take a licence for refinery and do nothing about it? It is not making them money the longer they hold onto it. It is because subsides on petrol mean that they won't see return on investment.

Even Dangote, if subsidy does not go by the time he refines his first liter of petrol, his refinery would crash .

This government must as a matter of urgency and necessity sell off at least two of those scarp metals called Refineries
I read somewhere in a thread, a few days ago, about how the NNPCL was paying close to 2 trillion for salaries and certain overhead and I kept wondering if the people that work in this Refineries still collect salary
What about the NNPCL Depots located in Ejigbo,Lagos State; Warri in Delta State,Emene in Enugu State and in different locations across Nigeria, those places have been idle for close to twenty years and the people working there will claim they are staff of NNPCL
When Mr Oloyede said most people in Nigeria are employed and unproductive,I sincerely believe the NNPCL contains a great deal of them
As for Port Harcourt Refinery,I have always been skeptical of the whole thing,I pray it works though because right now the country needs products and byproducts to boost the economy

We have 21 of those depots nationwide,... but could u believe non of them is working?....
If only all the infrastructures we had could be working again,.... Nigerians have no reason to be broke nor jobless.

Soon start working. When is the question. Give the nation a timeline and exact deliverable that are to be expected. This thing is turning out to be a great joke

democracy is a curse in Africa. I've always been a protagonist of democracy, but in Africa it's a colossal failure. Since 1999 till date, I can't point one outstanding infrastructure built by our politicians. This cuts across all sectors.

This is why some people ( and I agree). say the NLC, TUC and Pengassan unions are the enemies of the economy. No government has been able to lay off any worker in those refineries even when the refinery was not working. One of the many reasons that no investor ( save Dangote/Otedola were ever interested in buying Nigerian refineries. Meanwhile it was Pengassan trucks/drivers selling to neighbouring countries.

People that are employed productive majorly are the politicians, from central to state they only steal, they don't add value to Nigeria.
