A nurse who spoke in Yoruba said the action was not carried out because of religious reasons but for security.

Maybe the woman doesn't wear anything underneath

At least attend to the sick baby first, or what sorta Nurses are these? I guess they don't teach healthcare providers in Nigeria the Principle of non-maleficence/Do no harm because that's what she's indirectly doing.

Religion had blinded some people. If they have to perform critical examination on the baby, won't they still have to remove the niqab?

Health care has it own laws and guiding principles. For a system to work, order must be respected.

The mother is to also spend time with her baby inside the NICU as part of her baby's care team, so how would the nurses have spin that with the mother's insistence on her Niqah, bearing in mind there are other babies in that unit.?
