SpiritedCheer:
The coach embarrassed Nigeria with his defensive tactic because it made Nigeria look stupid, and totally outclassed. Ivory Coast goal keeper was hardly tested.
No one embarrassed you. You don't have the players for an attacking formation.
With the exception of your striker, none of your players can start for a top 10 premier league team.

Midfield was weak. Scout of local midfield players if you can't get from abroad. Checkout South Africa, most of their players are playing in their local league

I have always known that if Ivory with the new included Seri could control Senegal and Mali midfield, then they would do worse to Nigeria 's average midfield.

My reason for Onyedika and Aribo midfield combo was Onyedika is a defensive holding midfielder who's good at providing a passing option for the defence while Aribo is technically adept, as well as quite energetic. Wasn't Aribo fantastic for Nigeria in the last afcon? He was fantastic as aCM at the last afcon. So partnering Onyedika, a holding midfielder with Aribo could have probably helped to control the Midfield.

Onyeka is more like a defensive 8 while Iwobi is a no 10, not a CM even though he's not as creative as the usual no 10.

Our midfield was ass right from group stage. Was always talking about it. Their slow passes and hesitation dey always kill us because before there dey make up their mind, opposing players don block us or there go play wrong passes.

We were outplayed in our first match against Ivory Coast too, we got a lucky pen and won the match.

I dey watch how isreal dey bombard Games terrorists for Gaza

Imagine for a whole 90 minutes, we had just one shot on target

What an eyesore
When Ivory coast scored the first goal.
The coach should have changed the system to 442 rather than the Two midfielders we were playing.

Bring in Zaidu and push iwobi into proper ten role.

Iwobi is not a centeral midfielder.

The two wingers (chikuze and lookman) should have been sacrificed because they have spent nearly 60 minutes defending and have not managed a single cross all game.

Terem moffis pace(second striker) will have forced the ivorian defense backwards.

So you want Onyeka to be dropped? The problem in that midfield was Iwobi and coach overly defensive pattern. You cant withdraw back to your side for such a long time absorbing pressure waiting for counter that Ivorians had neutralize.
