Be informed that the local government issues tickets to these poor traders to sell their wares near the rail tracks.
The traders pay the local government daily taxes to be allowed to sell their wares in that location.

Can you share with us a copy of the ticket?

It was still in this very Lagos that Sanwolu went to Oshodi to warn them him self, they tried to barricade the area, still did not work.
What else do you want the govt to do. Mr know it all.

The footages are here on NL

This is what happens when there is a weak government.... one that can't enforce the law. It always result in lawlessness. If they are collecting fees for selling there then it is hypocritical to ask them to move.If not ... the warning to move is just a courtesy. He just needed to give a deadline and confiscate all goods after . Nothing special about Lagosians.... same will happen in other major cities .... the reason it doesn't is excuse of enforcement.

Why would the state government take proactive measures if you choose to kill yourself. It is the same you that will complain of marginalization if the govt Start throwing their stuffs away. Always blaming govt for everything.

And these traders selling, are they blind, daft or just plain stupid🙄🙄

Are they animals ? Even animals stay clear dangerous zones . Didn’t you see the viral video of the governor Sanwo olu screaming, shouting and pleading with them to leave the rail areas ? Must they attempt suicide daily

I remember Sanwo Olu going to Oshodi to speak to the traders and he warned them of the safety repercussions and why they had to evacuate...

Perhaps LASG needs to send a task force there.

The government has to introduce an electric fence and a security task force to beat anyone that intends to turn the railway into a marketplace

A genuine businessmen has no problem answering basic questions but 419 have issues with it.

Mods, Seun Osewa and co, scrutinise this boy here. When he built website for Tesla. He claims Tesla Invest website is his work sample. Before people fall victim here.

If you are legit, you will have no issue proudly showing off your work. Builders here on NL show off their work from foundation to the end.

Since you are typing from Yaba left, you only see mad people around you.

Why does the average Nigeria believe that you must block the road to sell foodstuffs.

It's just indiscipline.
And greed... Those who stay by the roadside want to deny those who shop are inside the market sales (though they sometimes claim they can't afford shops that's why they manage by the roadside).

And they have the mind to remain there because some local government official have collected money from them and allocated those places to them.

Seriously, all this is due to modernization

In the olden days we have market days

No one needs to block road.

Just anticipate that date and meet at the market square.

Well, man must survive
Govt can not even give them anything

Govt will ban anything
But to improve life they will ban the eyes from seeing.

Please what is the meaning of modernization? Check and revisit your post.

Illiterate people in poverty are quick to endanger themselves. If one person loses guard and the inevitable happens, they’ll all blame the government or village people.

Where are our many task force organizations? You want to tell me they know nothing of this?

Should the government think for the people?

So are you telling me the traders have more power than the governor in terms of controlling that area?

Hypocrisy at it peak .

So if others criticized you for performing your duty and doing right thing, you will back out in order to please them. Folks with thought like yours are never do well, they live their lives to please others not themselves. You myopic in thoughts, I pray it doesn't bring you more harm than good.

Throwback:

When they take proactive measures to curtail the potential for accident, some would still lament that they do not want the poor to breathe.

The government agencies like KAI should go there and flog all the animals there.

They should speak to them in the language they understand.

That is one of a proactive measure.

They tried to barricade the place and it did not work? The traders stopped them or what? This shouldn't be an excuse please. If it collecting revenue from the traders, the government won't run out of options on how to collect it. You can do better in your thoughts process please.

Agbero buy the ticket from the local government.
Agbero are empowered by the local and state governments. Do proper research the agberos make huge returns to the government in power! This is part of the so called internally generated revenue.
