It's funny cause even the payment with naira is going to be dependent on the exchange rate with the dollar. grin

So nothing changes here except the fact physical dollar ain't given but the naira given is still calculated according to the dollar rate

If you think there is a "right thing".
Then you have no idea what is going on.
Either Nigeria earns more dollar than it needs, or the Naira continues to fall.
Just like banning abokifx, you will see insignificant gains for a few days, then the dollar
rebounds again.
u know alot of micro causes need to be addressed.i don't think this things are allowed.i learnt in south Africa you even need ur banks clearance before having access to dollars but over here, anything goes.until the micro causes are address along side those caused by politician.we will be moving in circles

As measures to curb the Free Fall of the Naira against the Dollars, the Central Bank of Nigeria has release a statement Banning the use of Foreign Currency in Nigeria
The government is shooting itself on the foot.

The dollar is the most sought after currency all over the world.it is used by many west African countries like Ghana internally and that does not reduce the value of the Ghana cedi

All these are smoke screen approach, they should hold the bull by the horns

Something may actually be wrong with your brain cells if you think that a certified certificate forger, discovered to have become the guinea pig student of government college Lagos used to test run the school four years before it was founded, is more educated than someone who joined the military, rose through the ranks, attended various military courses both home and abroad, and reached the pinnacle of his career as a major general in the Nigerian military, not to mention various political office he was appointed and elected into.

Sorry CharleyBright,

the CBN circular quoted by Leadership newspaper is actually a very old one, from 2015!

In essence, this is fake news.

They are businesses being patronised by FG and FG pays the contractors in dollars, in Nigeria. Open your mind and you will make better analysis. Anything coming from this government should be read multiple times over because they don't have the masses at the core of their policies. Who spends official dollars more than the politicians?

The naira is the legal tender inside nigeria.By law using another currency to transact business inside nigeria is unlawful no matter who the perpetrator is.

You are not even listening, I am giving you an information that you obviously are not aware of, they are legal businesses in this our country that the contractors whom are sometimes Nigerians like you and I execute in Nigeria and the invoices are sent to CBN after completions for payment in USD. So your legal tender has limitations. Ask around, get a banker friend, mix up more and get informed. Do you know that some schools in Nigeria even collect fees in USD? ( these I am not sure of the legality)
