The Chinese are here to grab and leech on our resources again.

I hope there will be stringent regulations to protect the environment and also prevent them from fleecing the state and country of our dues.

Government should follow up on the agreement with them setting up a battery manufacturing plant in proximity to this processing/extracting plant

And Nigeria as a short sighted country will export the raw Lithium and collect money to be spent in purchasing electric vehicles and solar power batteries instead of producing for export and sale of Lithium Ion and Lithium polymer batteries.

Correction!

Lithium doesn't waste away, it has been there for donkey years and will remain there for another thousands of years if it is not mined.

I don't want us to repeat the mistakes we made with oil with another resource that requires foreign investors to process. The case of Niger and France concerning uranium mining is still causing ripples in the west African subregion.
So you prefer it to be there without anybody tapping it. Did the Chinese stopped anybody?

All the mining sites in Zamfara, Kaduna and Borno causing insurgence should be turned into legitimate revenue generating mines and a military barracks built in those places

Nasarawa State is the home of solid minerals, if that state gets a well focused government, the fortune of the state will be turnaround for good.

Minerals whether Crude oil or Lithium belong to the Federal Government. They should bring that Lithium to the national table for division by the entire country

Our leaders are too dumb.
They should be producing battery in Nigeria not just to take lithium away.

Transfer of technology is the most important. That was how China developed.

Mumu. No brain, typing rubbish.

The just opened a a lithium PROCESSING PLANT, and your mumu head came out with this garbage?

They want to process it here, leave the dangerous residue here and move the clean elements to china for making the batteries. If government get sense, they should mandate them to make the batteries here.

SHUT UP and go and learn about the lithium development policy of the Nigerian govt instead of spilling rank ignorance online.

Most of you only have time to come here and type your negative rubbish borne of ZERO research, since you are too lazy and stupid to learn anything, and swim in negativity and ignorance.

Everything will impact the economy, it would not be felt we need massive investment in the production sector, not just one or two plants 😂😂😂

Hope the plans isn't to export processed Lithium alone...at this stage of our national life we should be gunning for finished products in_country.

Nigeria now import common pipe fittings and accessories from India...a country with 2 gigantic steel plants in Ajeokuta and itakpe.

With Full Amenities.
Going for N1.4Billion

They have actually tried, when I read about the foundation laying ceremony, I thought it will take longer.

BTW as long as they are not exporting the raw material, it is OK. At least even if we are exporting, it will be the pure lithium itself.

You are calling the Chinese, we have a lot of stingy money bags who are afraid to invest in the system then let foreigners come in.

How people do make their money from dubious mean so they are usually afraid of investing their fund because they lack real investment experience and are afraid.

Dangote building an oil refinery instead of building lithium refinery, lithium battery factory and solar technology factory is clueless investment. Dangote, NNPCL, BUA and modular refineries are all potential stranded assets because electric cars and renewable energies are making them useless.

Would have been nice if states have the autonomy to control its resources but the money vampires in Aso rock won't let it happen. All states in Nigeria have one or more natural resources that can be harnessed to bring about rapid development for the states. Nigeria should have no business with poverty.
I am telling you. Nigeria is just sitting on a potential gold mine that can't be tapped because of the silly constitution. I keep telling people Nigeria is rich country that is actually poor.

It is more like a big manufacturing company with one segment working, it can't realize it full potential.
