Am I the only one who thinks everybody is mixing this up!

South Africa has been having power issues for years now and I think they made the video to spite themselves.. I don't see how it targeted Nigerians or the Super Eagles except that someone just went to add Osihmen's picture at the bottom. The video was made by South Africans for South Africa!

Exact. By 2015, Nigeria generated 4.2MW of electricity.

But 8 years after APC government, Nigeria generates less than 1.5 MW of electricity.
Ethno-religious bigots brought and sustain APC to rule Nigeria. Ethno-religious bigots thus hide under SOVEREIGNTY FOR NIGERIA to hold progressive Nigerians in one RETROGRESSIVE NIGERIA against the wish of the progressives.

Its a welcome mockery if our leaders will change their leadership styles. Almost all West African countries enjoys un-interrupted power supply. AT This age, Nigeria still suffers from basic amenities such as This.
Imagine, Nigeria having stable and fortified électricité supply and comparéd it to when WE lack It. cry cool

This has nothing to do with Nigeria. I was in S. A for about 2 months, last year.
South Africa has been experiencing a major power outage issue for an extended period, which they term "load shedding." During load shedding hours, which are published by the power outage companies, the power goes out for 2-3 hours. It happens nearly every day.

It's the equivalent of what was termed "rationing" in Nigeria a long time ago. South Africans are fed up with the power outage issue, and this video is simply a humorous show of that frustration.

Our leaders should wake up and stop making Nigeria a laughing stock. If people don't abuse you, you will not make effort to improve. It's a good rebuke. We give other nations light and they have steady light. Why can't we have steady light?
Re: South Africa Mocks Nigeria As 'Generator Republic' In New Nationwide Ad (Video) by 080bjaked(m): 11:31pm On Feb 08
This isn't right though. South Africa has been suffering from loadshedding for a while now. They are having terrible challenges with power. This video was done to diss their own government but as par say Naija get main character syndrome, we must make everything about ourselves.
By the way this video was done last year so it has nothing to do with Afcon or the Nigerian game.

Chai! This goes a long way to show that the win pained them deep down to their bone marrows. They should be ashamed for letting the same Generator Republic to knock them out of the AFCON competition. When we fought to liberate them from Apartheid regime by sending trained cadets and millions of naira to support the geurilla resistance force in their country, they didn't know we are generator Republic. Cry me an ocean. Nansense an ingredient

Nice one👍
I like reading about those who know and understand history.
Actually we spent billions of USD to fight apartheid and not Naira actually.

south African has about 53,000 mega watts of electricity but generator republicans has 3,500 mega watts after collaps on Monday this week it remains 350 mw

South Africa has 1 billion megawatts yet they take light there every day.

Rubbish.

It's only people who don't know South Africa that will take this 'insult' serious.

.......

''Widespread power outages have returned to South Africa following a brief respite during the festive period''.

The blackouts, commonly referred to as load-shedding, are a critical measure aimed at preventing a complete collapse of the strained electricity grid.

Eskom, the state-owned power utility, has announced the implementation of load-shedding from 5 am to 4 pm on Tuesday, exacerbating the challenges faced by the country's power infrastructure.

The power cuts are set to escalate from stage two to stage three, indicating that South Africans can anticipate blackouts up to nine times a day....''

You people are UNBELIEVABLY IGNORANT.

Most West African countries enjoy what?

Have you researched ACCESS TO ELECTRICITY statistics in West Africa?

'Access to electricity' meaning the percentage of your population that is connected to the national grid, and is able to access electricity if supplied because their house is wired etc.

In Nigeria, that number is 60%, ie at least 150 million people out of the 220 million population, have access to electricity.

The percentage for Access to Electricity for Niger Republic (pop, 25 million) is 18%.

For Sierra Leone (pop, 8.5 million ) it is 27%.

South Sudan (pop.11 million) it is 8%.

Congo DRC (pop. 95 million) it is 21%.

Benin Republic (pop.14 million) it is 42%.

Guinea-Bissau (pop. 2.6 million) it is 36%.

Guinea (pop. 13 million) it is 46.8%.

Chad (pop. 17 million) it is 11%.

Central African Republic (pop. 6 million) it is 16%.

Burkina Faso (pop. 22 million) it is 19%.

Burundi (pop. 13 million) it is 10%.

Insulting of Nigeria has its pattern. For instance, when electricity is used on Nigeria the culprits are usually organised Ghanaians. Nigeria's organised Opposition Politics then sometime join in.

I don’t blame South Africans for talking trash to us. This issue of electricity is really a shame to Nigeria, if places like Gabon, Mauritius and a host of other African nations have more reliable supply of electricity than us.
