Any constitution that does not cease to exist at this level of economic disasters is an obstacle. Economic reforms have to start with a new constitution that will ensure political reforms too and all reforms must help to make things better for the masses immediately. 1 Like |

Which Constitution? Honestly, should the letters of the Constitution as presently written are observed, Nigeria would be competing with not just US but Sweden, Singapore, development-wise. For example, if we observed the Fiscal Federalism, where each region, in this case States explore the resources in their domain, every state will be doing something and not going cap in hand to Abuja every month end for allocation. Every state of the federation would have exploited its area of economic advantage ranging from agriculture to mineral exploration 1 Like |

Thank God you are saying the same thing. It's not the Constitution that is the problem but the managers of our resources. They're in an unholy alliance against the poor. Corruption and lopsided/selective implementation of the Constitution are the twin pillars that hinder Nigeria development HellVictorinho6: |

Re: The Constitution Is An Obstacle To National Development by teamoneline: 8:19pm On Feb 11 |
The problem of Nigeria is just INEC. You can't put the wrong people in power and want them to do the right thing. As far as INEC is setup by the same politicians you are complaining about then Nigeria will never move forward. Let non political/partisan past and present leaders of ASUU,NBA,NANS,NLC come together and setup and conduct elections and watch if Nigeria will not work |
Re: The Constitution Is An Obstacle To National Development by HellVictorinho6(m): 10:54pm On Feb 11 |
teamoneline: even if they set it up, itz the same politicians that will contest with the same aim,4get the economy needs people with a different aim but these politicians have made it too expensive for such people. these politicians control the courts, therefore control the law. therefore ,those with a different aim, which is to reduce cost of politics/governance , have to make enough money to get there first. |
