You don't seem to know APC paid hands when you see them.
You see how he carefully selected his "working" states?
According to Zombies like him, 28% of a thing is more important than 52%.
Anchor Borrowers program which their govt mismanaged over 2trn us child's play compared to state allocation.
Such people are better left to continue playing the fool.
It's an APC strategy to reduce pressure on the centre

Lagos - APC
Rivers - PDP
Kano - NNPP
Kaduna - APC
Abuja - the Center

What other state is working in Nigeria compared to those above?

Like I said, too ignorant, but think they know.

Some of the statement by the minister was unnecessary, especially the part he asked what the governor's are doing with their allocation.

The governor's can't achieve meaningful things because of the high inflation, everything has gotten more expensive.

What about Akwa Ibom that easily tops all those states in terms of development since 1999?
Oyo has been clearing pensions and gratuities owed by previous APC administration in the state same with Osun.
Besides, anyone with half a brain knows it's false logic to claim states have increased allocation when the naira was devalued by over 300% since May while the so-called allocation only increased by a measly 40%. Not to mention that the dollars denominated returns of same allocation is with the FG but the states are the problem according to you.

It is a legitimate question.

You don't pay salaries or pension
You do very little infrastructure
Basic health centres are not funded
You don't do anything to encourage farming in your state (especially Southern Governors)
You do nothing to help fight insecurity in your state.

All people see are hilux, land cruisers, and a long entourage of officials running up down.

Most state governors are doing absolutely nothing. Many Commissioners don't even have anything substantial to do. Everything starts and ends at the Governor's office.

The Governors are completely left alone to loot while citizens focus 100% attention on the Federal government.

As long as that continues, nothing will change.

Delta state is a good example, 16 years of stealing and everyone is looking and not asking questions. Bad roads, poor education system, no jobs, high crime rate. Warri went from oil city to being a keke city.
Re: What Did You Do With Your Increased Allocations? FG Asks PDP Govs by LARRYOBRAIN(m): 8:01am On Feb 14
You are not patriotic with your write up, that is the truth; the governors are getting triple of what they are getting under Buhari. What are they doing with the money, converting it to dollar and stealing it. Forget political affiliation, that is a honest question.
ivolt:
This childish question of "what did you do with your allocation" has been overused.
If the FG believes that allocations are being mismanaged, all it need do is
to investigate the state's budget and put forward its findings.
We want to see such reports not press release.

It is even more silly to ask such in the current dispensation.
Naira was devalued by more than 100% while the state's allocation was increased by about 30%.
How effective was such an allocation increase?

This is not a defense of the governors, even if we agree that the governors are all thieves.
It is not the job of a thief to expose itself. The accuser should shoulder such responsibility
and expose the thief. The FG should do its job and investigate alleged thieves, it is not too
much to ask for.

How is Tinubu’s Lagos an exception when its 20 LGAs are not employing workers to maintain tarred feeder roads, refuse handling, free primary schools etc?

Are you sure you know what you’re talking about
All what you mentioned above are being done by local Governments in Lagos. If you don't have information, seek clarification. Stop pandering to ignorance.

More of a defence than reply, don't let us forget that Venezuela didn't get there in one day, they went through this defence pattern along the way too. It is well with this country.

Venezuelas economic woes were caused mainly by numerous inhibiting US economic sanctions and embargoes.

This worsened Hugo Chavezs bolivarian socialist welfare system, where state revenues were primarily poured into a welfare system that catered for the poor in free housing, health care, education and other social services.

This made it difficult for Venezuela to experience a far reaching economic development, especially in the real sector, thus exposing its economy to shocks.

In nigeria, tinubu and buhari chose their own respective economic development pathways.

Buhari failed to invest in boosting our local refining capacity.

Tinubu, on the other hand, failed in achieving that before the removal of subsidy, as well as devaluing of the naira. This is all too reminiscent of ibbs sap, until abacha stepped in to calm the storm.

One thing we ought to understand is that tinubu is a neo liberalist. Economic Neo liberalism has never helped africa in any way. It always widens the gap between the rich and the poor.

They own the lands but do nothing to boost food production yet your evil mind hates those who ask questions! May it not be well with you CHILDREN OF HATE who are rejoicing at the current challenges being faced by Nigeria.

May the evil they wish for always only happen in their households and may they not live to see Nigeria eventually come out of these current challenges, since they will rather die than see Nigeria make progress for the fact that GBAJUE lost woefully!!!

Why should state governments be limited to paying salaries and pension? That's all majority of them do anyways, and a large number of them still owe the workers and pensioners.

That said, I don't care if naira increased by 1000%. The bone of contention is that the usual money the FG use to pay fuel subsidy for the masses are now being allocated to the FAAC. What are these state governments using the fund to do? It's a simple question.

Before fuel subsidy removal, what were they using FAAC to do?

Post fuel subsidy removal, what have they used FAAC to do? They should give account. The people deserve it. Inflation or not, fuel subsidy monies has been diverted into the FAAC account - if the masses aren't enjoying subsidy again, at least the state governments should be able to account for their monthly allocation. For most of them, nothing has changed pre and post subsidy removal - they still owe workers and aren't doing anything to boost their economy.

Regards, Akwa Ibom, I don't know how much they generate or how well they are building their economy or attracting investments. Let's even assume Akwa Ibom is performing on par with Lagos, that leaves us with 6-7 states doing well out of 37 states. Now do you see the problem?

Osun and Oyo clearing pension is bare minimum. They are not on the levels I'm talking about.

APC is not a political party they are specialist is truth distortion and manipulation of people thinking people are daft. That question is for the APC governors. And not PDP

All PDP governors are doing extremely well and better than all APC governors. I open this floor for comparison. They are not comparable at all.
Re: What Did You Do With Your Increased Allocations? FG Asks PDP Govs by Shikena(m): 12:40pm On Feb 14
Spot on.

Hopium:
As usual, they've turned this serious issue to PDP vs APC. They don't care so far they can type rubbish on nairaland threads to vent out their hatred for Tinubu and his government, because their failure was rejected at the polls.

Dolts. Don't start asking questions, abeg! Don't ask. You lots would leave your states to rots by your state governors then run to Kaduna, Kano, Rivers, Abuja, Lagos where the State government is working, then come online to bash the FG and even bash the government of your host states. Id!ots.

Inflation or not; Naira floating or not; Subsidy removal or not - What were these state governments doing before this administration? We've experienced massive wealth effect during Obasanjo's administration, what did these state governments do to increase/generate IGR, better the lives of their people, create jobs, attract foreign investments? During Yaradua, GEJ administration, how did they improve the lives their people? These are critical questions to ask. No be today they started getting FAAC. They've been receiving since 1999 - for 25 years! 25 foking years.

If they all worked hard like Lagos, Rivers, Abuja, Kaduna, Kano State governments over these years, we won't be exerting unnecessary pressure on a few states now. We could have had massive economy hubs spread throughout the country. Insecurity won't be worst like this. Chibuzor, Ade, and Yaro won't be migrating to Lagos to find jobs after schooling in Anambra, Osun, Jigawa because their states economy is thriving and they can easily find jobs there. Lagos won't be overcrowded. But yeah, let blame Tinubu for asking this critical questions.
