This is very good development. ... Some travellers traveling with their children will collect more than what they need as PTA even on their children ( ,probably underaged)travelling document because it's subsidized and immediately sell it to BDC. 12 Likes 1 Share |

VeryWickedMan: For the Naira to stop falling, the CBN should increase interest rates above that of inflation. That is global best practice. 4 Likes |

This one na cashless police... Those into legal activates have nothing to worry about. Cashless police would kill blackmarket dollar sales. The Central Bank of Nigeria has banned the sale of forex directly to travelers in cash 9 Likes 1 Share |

emkz:You are spot on. Many of our FOREX rules changed with Emiefele and Buhari in 2016. The result after that has not been palatable to me. If I were the CBN Governor, I would reverse every decision made on the FX market in 2016 and go back to what it was in the time of Jonathan 100%. 7 Likes |

All of these sounds good. Unfortunately it contributes very little to addressing the Forex challenges in our country, putting more pressure on businesses trying to thrive and middle class masses trying their best to make sense out of life by travelling for greener pastures or schooling. The bulk of dollar exchange happening in this country is circulating among politicians and elites in top positions who will always have their ways to access dollars for their gains. These guys are sitting on the board of banks and other treasury /financial houses. Until CBN policies directly affect them, all is a joke. Bribery to top officials is in dollars🤐 2 Likes |

Jogs1900:Story. Since January 2023, no one has bothered to buy bta. So who gets it in cash? Certainly not you or me, not to talk of whole families as you claim. You cannot even buy if you are below 18 in the first instance. Back then, accepted some banks gave bta in cash eg acess bank, but gt bank will always pay into your mastercard. Eg on $2k if you require cash they will only give you $200, the rest will go to your card which you cannot transfer to another gt account but can only spend abroad. You cannot even withdraw the money from your dom account assuming you did not spend it all. Anyway, the only people that may currently use bta are government officials. So the topic should be government bans civil servants from bta in cash. Why will you apply for bta when official rate is thesame with blackmarket, you then pay charges to the bank? 1 Like 3 Shares |
