Cross River civil servants staged a protest at the office of the Secretary to the State Government's on Thursday, over unpaid salaries.

In a video shared by Anthony Ehilebo, a protester voiced concerns over the dire situation, highlighting the hardships being faced by workers.

The protester stressed the need for timely salary payment, especially in January when many workers need to pay their children's school fees.

He noted that the delay in salary payments until February 15 has increased the financial strain on employees across the state.

He said in part, “In January, workers need to pay their children school fees. This is February 15th, salaries have not been paid all over Cross River State. People are walking to access this office to write names for salaries to be paid. It has never been done in Cross River.

“Your Excelleceny, Bassey Otu, people are suffering, workers in Cross River are dying, we cannot continue like this"
