The fast depreciating purchasing power of my hard-earned salary, the devalued Naira, and the creeping inflation: I just discovered by purchasing water today that my monthly salary can only pay for a limited quantity of water supply. I spent forty thousand naira (40k) for a water tanker one trip load (about 2800 gallons) this evening in Enugu. Talk about price fixing. We bought previously the first week of February for 35k. Of course, the driver said the cost of diesel drives the price. The ultimate buyer bears the brunt. We need at least two tankers for one month at 80k, which would have taken one-fifth of my professorial cadre salary in a Federal University. At this rate, just water without food, electricity, transportation, generator fueling, house rent, school fees, health care, etc., one can see that the One Million Naira being proposed as minimum wage by the Labour Union is not a laughing matter to be dismissed by wave of hand. It increasingly appears either realistic or may need to be more. Which way, Nigeria? I can only hum Sonny Okosun's (1984 - Which Way Nigeria) and Majek Fashek's (Send Down the Rain!) songs as I silently pray for reprieve and an urgent economic solution so Nigerians can breathe well.

One naira is equivalent to 0.40 CFA.... Imagine the insult!!!! This was not the case throughout the administration of GEJ.

However, when you oppose Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu's demonic and poverty-inflicted policies, his supporters will argue that Yooukay, Franzzzz, and Singapoor are also experiencing recession and difficulty.

Tribal bigots will learn a bitter lesson, this is just the beginning till they start pushing the naira in wheel-barrows to just to pay for purchase of bread like it happened in Zimbabwe next time they won't vote/support a candidate based on tribal/ethnic sentiments. Banza.

If Tinubu still comes to the podium to lick microphone again at the next election, they'll still vote for him.

I have said this before and I'll say it again.
We don't need presidents. We don't need elections or even government.

Extraordinary situations calls for extreme measures. Nigeria is close to a comatose state and needs urgent resuscitation.

We need to dissolve executive and legislative government. The system of government we are practicing is too expensive for the amount of money we are earning.

We need to urgently appoint the CEO of a Fortune 500 company to run this country like corporation with a mandate to bring it to profitability within 5 years.

He/she will be allowed to come onboard with their team, and they will hold executive and legislative powers to create laws and execute policies without bureaucratic red tape.

Short of a dictatorship or dissolution, this is the only radical solution for now.

The only solution is division of Nigeria

If we don't divide Nigeria, time shall come when you'll be carrying money in a wheelbarrow to go and buy a loaf of bread - Nnamdi Kanu (30/5/2015)

Lol. Professors aren't smiling too. It can't be easy for anyone depending on the Nigerian economy.

Tap into the world economy if you want to not only survive but thrive during this period. If you don't habe the brain to tap into this first option, go buy land, put borehole there, build a small building, put solar panels, and start producing fresh food. You will cash out big time.

This woman should keep quiet, we would happily endure all hardship needed to make Nigeria better provided we teach Obi and Obidients a very bitter lesson on politics. Dollars would soon reach #2,000 but don't panic because on Tinubu's mandate we stand.

Hello! Ladies and Gentlemen of Nairaland.

One thing that gave me joy as I was going through Prof writing; after the rigging they call election, they credited most of these so called Professors' account to read out the falsified figures are results, mostly VCs of Federal Universities.

Now, why are you crying Prof?

Wait a minute, is it not the same Prof that was lamenting the high cost of freight ticket during AFCON final?

One thing that gives me joy is that, the so called man on the Streets knows how to adapt, survive on the Streets until the day Baba God picks his call.

Let's just assimilate this news with one bottle of ice cold Budweiser.

Shalom my people.

Stop misquoting him. He was trying to illustrate how alleged stealing is different from corruption charges.
Stealing - you will catch the thief red handed, no rooms for denials, with the physical stolen items which may lead to jungle justice to some or just some evidence from the scene to secure procecution for him whereas in corruption charges, the culprits may be playing hide-and-seek, denial, using the judiciary to corner justice and may even dodge sentence at the end of the day. I remembered her was trying to justify the introduction of Tech (BVN) to tackle corruption
