Why not compair Nigeria with Saudi Arabia,Qatar, Russia,Dubai and other oil producing nations
You only read the headline.
They are actually comparing the prices as evident that subsidy is back and smuggling has returned.

Whoever is the author of this piece of shit should be silenced. How can you own oil, produce petroleum products (refined) and still expect to be selling highest in West Africa. I think some people's knowledge is a complete waste , they just learnt English language to set confusion everywhere they go and whenever the opportunity presents itself to type online
You're the lazy one. Sorry to say.
The writer compared the prices since after subsidy removal so as to tell you that subsidy is back in Nigeria and the very reason Nigeria buys cheaper than other West Africa where there is no subsidy. And that the same smuggling FG is trying to stop has been defeated.

When you start hearing "cheapest this cheapest that", be assured that price increase is imminently. I believe it's some strong interests in the government and private sector that plant and fuel such stories, just to conditioner people's minds. Our wickedness to ourselves is legendary.
You just spoke my mind. There is no need to write any story again

What about minimum wage? How are we ranked, because these stupid economist will not consider the minimum wage and living standards of Nigerians, salaries are still 35k which is like $19 a month, why don't we receive same salary and allowance like others and do a proper comparison, we don't have regular Power supply, but they're have, make Una know let person vex

Sighs. Could this be the reason many generators and vehicles have gone into hibernation?

It's not by stealing the vehicle from the rightful owner. It is knowing what to do it.

Power may not be served at the restaurant but leadership certainly is.
who is the rightful owner?

Many of those west african countries pay more for electricity than we do, because they pay cost reflective tarrifs for power, something our government denies our discos from charging.

Healthcare and education is realitvely free in many government schools here (which is why they are a mess, but that is another discussion). Same as many other african countries. (If one is on NHIS/PHIS, you even get cheap care relatively).

In considering the cost of electricity among the countries, should you not include the total cost of getting the same amount of electricity available across the countries, which means including the cost of fuel and depreciation on the generators in Nigerian households, factories, farms and other businesses including religious organisations?

How widely available are the free government schools and primary health clinics among the countries

The disparity between our prices and our neighbour's should be closed by adjusting first. Even if subsidy must be maintained, it shouldn't be so huge that smuggling now becomes attractive to marketers.

Closing the disparity gap will also reduce burden of what FG pays per litre and by total volume consumed.

The thing is the experts have said Nigeria does not charge cost reflective tarrif. That is where our problem is regarding electricity.

Yeah, so?

If you were running a business selling stuff, you won't ask your customers how much their salary is before selling anything to then, you know.
