DaTruths: If not for Yoruba people wey dey always wan side Hausas against the entire South, i wonder wetin go dey give this Hausa people such level of self importance.
So NTA is now Hausa Television Authority?
Not just Nta. The whole Nigeria is controlled by the north.
Thiefnibuu is becoming desperate after being openly thrown under the bus by the North who he depends on for votes.
He brings in Gowon for a propaganda job, so they can circulate the tape in the North, hence the need for the General to speak Hausa.
But the old soldier was to wise for them and rejected their plot.
Even Thiefnibuu knows his days in that office are numbered.
Na so you people go deh beat chest as if you know tomorrow. Some of you boasted Tinubu will never smell presidency seat but today he's presiding over you. If you know it's such easy to govern Nigeria, pls join politics and declare interest.
Hahahahah..... As in they seriously went to get back the older cameras ππππ
I'm telling you, you needed to see the picture quality of NTA during Ben Bruce as DG, it beat so many private TV stations in Nigeria at the time, even the studio stages were topping at the time, I remember them interviewing Charley Boy on one of the programs and he was like wow, that the stage was looking so good and even the AC there was so chilling and that he was really impressed with how NTA had transformed their studio, NTA became interesting to watch for many Nigerians...
Fast forward to when Ben Bruce was removed and I was like what happened to even the picture quality, did they sell the high quality cameras or throw them away...
At least even if they changed all the logo and sound and studio stages, why change the picture quality?
I wonder how Mr. Gowon feels about the state of the same country that the British used him to "unite" by starving millions of innocent kids to death.
Does he suffer from PTSD or depression whenever he remembers how he broke the Aburi Accord or the traumatizing pictures of the starving Biafran kids?
May God help us live a life with less regrets so we can transition to the other side with that peace that comes to your soul when you remember that you spent your time on Earth fighting the right cause.
naptu2: Nigerians Complain That There Are No NTA Hausa, Igbo & Yoruba, But Are There?
1) The BBC and Nigerian languages
The BBC World Service Radio started broadcasting in Hausa in March 1957. The fact that the Hausa Service was the only Nigerian language service that the BBC had confused a lot of Nigerians and they asked why there were no BBC Igbo or BBC Yoruba services. For example, see the thread below:
I tried to explain to them (on that thread) that Hausa was probably the most widely spoken language in West Africa (it is spoken in Nigeria, Niger, Benin, Ghana, Cameroon, etc.) and that this was the primary reason that there was a Hausa Service.
I also explained that the BBC had experienced massive budget cuts since 1995 (I was a short wave/BBC addict from 1989 till 2010) and that it was quite expensive to set up a short wave radio network.
The complaints increased when the BBC launched a Hausa Service TV channel.
Eventually, technnolgy evolved and this made it easy for the BBC to launch Igbo, Pidgin English and Yoruba services. These services are mainly propagated via social media (Facebook, Twitter and YouTube). The services were launched in 2018.
NairaOcean: On Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, something surprising happened on TV. The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) was showing a live program with Yakubu Gowon, a former leader. At 5:30 pm, during the show, things got tense.
NTA asked Gowon to speak Hausa, a language he didn't want to use. Gowon is good at speaking English, which he preferred. But NTA kept insisting, even though Gowon said no. Then, without warning, NTA suddenly stopped the program. People watching were confused and upset. They went on social media to talk about it.
People are now talking about why this happened and if it was right. They want NTA to explain.
Thiefnibuu is becoming desperate after being openly thrown under the bus by the North who he depends on for votes.
He brings in Gowon for a propaganda job, so they can circulate the tape in the North, hence the need for the General to speak Hausa.

Nonentity is you.
Meanwhile, the chicken has come home to roost. Gowon has been the pageboy for hausa-fulani over lordship for so long. He has shown them that is no more. At least the man is going to the next life knowing he must atone for his mistakes
Many Nigerians complain that the BBC "came to Nigeria in 2018 and started broadcasting in Nigerian languages, meanwhile the NTA has not been able to broadcast in Nigerian languages". Is this true?
thesolutions: Langtang people will never publicly agree that they are Hausas or know how to speak it. It was an attempted media coup against Gowon and the people of langtang in plateau state. They have ditched Hausa language long ago. They are Tarok people. Not Hausa.
Sorry to say but nothing might happen, the northerners believe they own NTA, have you have heard the song they play before they read news? The song sounds so northern like....
Look at the color of NTA logo, looks so like northern colors
Ben Bruce came and rebranded all that when he was DG of NTA, changed the logo and color to a fine logo with blue, then made NTA 24 hours, they even stopped playing that northern sound before the news, the camera and recording quality improved that NTA started winning awards and competing with private stations, people who even hated NTA started watching NTA because he brought in new programs too, guess what?
when he was removed as DG, they reversed almost everything he did, it was like they even went and brought the old cameras and started using because the picture quality became poor, the logo was changed back and the northern sound was now played before the news.
Till date NTA has remained like a relic channel, the only thing they kept was the 24 hours broadcast....
you mean they even throw away the new cameras and brought back the old outdated once
The truth is that the NTA has been broadcasting in Nigerian languages for more than 40 years.
The NTA had 3 TV stations in Lagos in the 1980s and '90s: NTA2 Channel 5, NTA Channel 10 and NTA Channel 7. Channel 5 was the youth oriented/entertainment station, Channel 10 was the adult oriented/talk station and Channel 7 was the community station.
Channel 7 had news in Yoruba (Irohin) and Egun (Linlin) and they competed with Lagos Television (LTV) for Yoruba shows like Tan'mo, Fadeyi Oloro and F'eyi K'ogbon.
Similarly, NTA stations across the country also showed the news and other programmes in the Nigerian language that was dominant in their locality.
1. The General is not Hausa so why force him to speak another man's language? Now I hope people understand what the middle belt folks go through in the hands of these barbarians? Gowon is from Plateau and Hausa is not the language of Plateau people.
2. Secondly, the general clearly refused to do a propaganda job here for BAT's Hausa audience.

Gowon is not langtang, his is Ngas from kanke local govt.
Even if Tinubu's days in office are numbered, that your statistics liar will never seat on that seat of power.

Right, so the NTA has been showing Nigerian language programmes for decades, but does it have dedicated Nigerian language channels? Is there an NTA Hausa, an NTA Igbo or an NTA Yoruba? Of course there are.
The NTA partnered with a Chinese satellite TV provider called StarTimes. They created a joint venture company called NTA-StarTimes. The NTA has 30% shares in the company, while StarTimes has 70% shares. The purpose of the company is to provide digital pay TV services to Nigerians.
lt is not π« bad for the African ex leader to speak his interview with his African language or Hausa AS LONG AS THERE IS COMPULSORY ENGLISH SUBTITLE ; English our Lingua Franca I am based in Europe , and mi European country no body speaks the language of the English man/English language; from university lectures, to market to newspapers, foreigners have to learn the language inorder to cope well
English is over rated abeg . I know the English colonised Nigeria just as France π¨π΅π¨π΅π¨π΅colonised some places . If not that Nigeria comprises of different African languages, eh, assuming everybody speaks one language eg biafra nation, yoruba natiion, etc na African languge suppose be lingua franca.
Personally , l fear our African languages will go extinct soon if we continue like this, these our new gen z so so english to speak local language na problem .
I understand your point. But taking Nigeria for example We have a multi ethnic population. English is the official language
NTA is a public station, it has various viewers that cut across different ethnicity Using Hausa here is totally wrong
SpecialAdviser: Man be wondering what he gained in that nonsenstical Biafran war. You are killing my people, you are still forcing me to speak your language. Even the future is not bright for my people.
What kind of subjugation is this?
The unneeded war that coward Ojukwu started, Ojukwu only sacrificed the 3 M !gbo for a country that only exists in imagination.

You are an old timer. Remember NTA then, under Ben Bruce, used to join CNN around midnight everyday! In the evening they would join channel O. NTA changed a lot during Bruce's time. The northerners reversed everything.
