Nothing is happening in those states, Ebonyi alone has more BDCs than Ogun Oyo osun and ekitit combined. It shows that they are dead economically

Ondo is not on the list. Are there no BDC in Ondo State?
What about those abokis standing under Akure bridge and around the post office area? Are they not BDC too?
grin grin grin

Ondo is a farming state, thus; has nothing to do with BDC

Omo, Lagos na ya mate!

Lagos is where things are happening in Nigeria.

Most business/investment related giverment ministries and agencies should be moved back to Lagos.

Abuja is corruption capital of Nigeria where Nigeria's wealth is looted.

No, Lagos is for yorubas alone.

So there are states that doesn't have BDCs?

They're in every state but they don't have license to operate though most of them acts like Agents for those that are licensed.

Lagos is simply the undisputed economic capital in naija... The size is massive... Other states need to upgrade.. Dem dey lag behind.. .. all economic statistics back Lagos as naija engine room

It has been that because it is the economy capital of Nigeria and was federal capital for over 80years

All FG investment is invested in Lagos and that is why it is the most populated state in Nigeria!

Unnecessary noise. If Lagos is superb. They should form a country of their own.

Lagos lives on taxes from crude oil proceeds and from taxes mostly from people they call strangers in Lagos.

Oduduwa Republic can come only when crude oil proceeds stop to flow into the federal coffers.

If Ondo state has nothing to do with BDCs you won't see abokis in such huge numbers on the streets I mentioned, buying and selling dollars everyday. From old garage to post office to oja oba bridge, abokis BDCs dominate all these areas. You've not been to Akure before, it's very obvious. Mumu people like you go just siddon for your grandpa's cottage for village dey type nonsense for internet.

Obi is supporting hawkers of dollars. He said government shouldn't arrest them. You don't need anyone to tell you that Obi is a stupid man. Very stupid man who doesn't know when politics end and when governance begins. Unfortunately, his gullible worshippers were backing him except few ones that disagree with him.

Tinubu is ready to keep those Licensed BDCs but those Agbero dollars standing on the road would be arrested and prosecuted.

It's unfortunate that Obi will be playing politics with everything to the extent of deceiving his followers.

What i don't understand is; why sell to BDC at subsidised rate? Why? Why not direct anyone that needs USD to the bank? Why sell to them at #1,300 while they will resell at #1,500+? Why?

I agree with your second question, why not sell to banks and ask banks to sell directly to customers?

Are banks that superior that CBN and government can't punish erring banks that refuse to sell or claim they don't have?

What about banks allowing people perform transactions on their cards, even if it's just $200 monthly, with the dollar they get from CBN?

Does this mean that banks would start giving out dollar to customers, cos I noticed that they stopped and started giving out the naira equivalent of whatever amount of dollars you want to withdraw.

If the BDCs have been given the green light by CBN to resume operations, hope we'll be able to get dollar from the bank.
You can only get a maximum of $500 as cash..the rest will be loaded in a debit card..

Now, anybody they see on the street selling or buying dollars would be arrested and prosecuted.

Don't let us forget that it's easier for these so called unregistered BDC to finance terrorism.
Every transaction by the registered BDC will be documented.Any politician wey use stolen go buy dollar will have his records taken.

Now, I love this, unfortunately, there's no where in the report that talks about arresting those street dollar hawkers

Also, what if those guys are actually working for the licenced BDC, does that still make them illegal?

I'm seeing everyone comment as if the street hawkers are illegal... What if they're actually working for the registered guys? Will it now be a crime to recruit "marketers" to sell for you?

Why do we need this many? This is the source and conduit for the round tripping and artificial scarcity of the dollar. Most of the crooks are based in Lagos. Sanusi might know them all

Please shut up, the people your are talking trash about are the only people that will turn billionaires in an open market without govt interference.

Remove the government monopoly from dangote and BDCs and watch how those people you love to hate would take over like they were the ones incharge since the existence of this shit hole.

Fear those people , nobody would be able to stand if they where ment to go through what they have gone through and still going through .

Even the northaners you love eating their asses knows they are not up to what it takes.

The Igbo were the ones in Dangote's position from the 1940s to July 1966, we were the dominant tribe in Nigeria.

Nigeria didn't turn into paradise back then and the Igbo certainly didn't make any effort to turn Nigeria into a free market economy....for exactly the reasons the British didn't do it and that's why the dominant Islamic Alliance will not do it today.

Basically VIOLENCE is the currency of political power in Nigeria and the result is always winner take all. Direct translation - no development.

Good Luck to Nigerians.

Other states will not improve until seaport is moved to some other regions, as long as we are import dependent everyone will always come to Lagos first and that’s why you see less state making progress apart from Lagos. If you take sanwo Olu to Oyo he will struggle etc

That is the truth and you know it. Till the end of time that is how it would be

Except if there is true restructuring. But in a situation where the major seaports, major airports etc are only concentrated in a single city of over 200M people in a country. That is what will happen
