For your info, whereas the take home salary of a Nigeria lawmaker is about 5m - 9.3million naira monthly, the BASIC salary is NOT up 300k. The BASIC Salary of a Nigerian sitting governor is 650k….. so, the basic is NOT the issue, it is the allowance

So, invariably, what these guys are doing is to donate around 200k- 30k while keeping about 5m - 9m to themselves and you call that a sacrifice?

Donate to who, through who and how much?

They said their basic salary! Who are they deceiving? Their basic salary is not up to 30% of their total monthly take home because some single allowances are far more than the basic salary.

What they should be discussing is sponsoring bills to reduce the monthly take home of all political office holders both at the state and federal levels, then I will know they are being sincere not all these cosmetic approach.

The solution to the current problem Nigeria is facing must be strategic/systemic and sincere in approach not all these campaign after election activities.

Infact, the legal take home of public office holders (politicians and high ranking civil servants) is not the problem but the money and resources they corruptly embezzle. So, they should just stifle this hypocritical endeavor.
