The root issue here is the greed in all of us - trying to make too much money from everything even if our country dies in the process.

We should question ourselves on our trading practices that we call business smartness or sense.

This is a country we sell at 3 to10 times our cost price, doubling prices in ways not commensurate with causative factors - fuel or dollar increases (after eradicating lower cash denominations)
We produce shoes locally but want to sell at American designer rates;
We sew clothes locally but want to sell at Gucci's price;
We make furniture with our local wood and start calling millions;
yet turn around to blame the government for everything!

The previous government gave subsidies to lots of farmers in form of grants, fertilisers at cheaper rates and loans in order to facilitate food production which was supposed to feed Nigerians. This is beyond Peter Obi vs Tinubi, this is just economic sabotage. Basically they are cheating the Nigerian government and poor Nigerians.

The problem right now the exchange rate. The naira has lost value in to our neighbors. Its more profitable to export and our neighbors buy our products really cheap and Nigerians buying it costly.

The north is more favoured than other regions.When government of Buhari announced distribution of free fertilisers,loans and grants to farmers,they all went to the north alone.I don't think they repay those loans but when harvest is due they move their crops out of Nigeria to sell.

My brother, normal business that people were doing without any hitches. Poor policies couple with wide spread insecurity, resulting to the inability of farmers to go to farm has caused prices to soar and hunger. Instead of government to tackle the root causes, they are busy harassing people doing business.
