If you open border for Niger and Nigeria ... What about Cotonou ( Benin Republic ) and Nigeria , open border for rice , frozen foods , tokunbo cars and let there be competition in the market

Asiwaju Tinubu is always ahead of his mediocre political opponents.

TINUBU and his policy makers are Dundee .... I thought they wanted to invade Niger, all of a sudden they are now building rail lines .....

Trust is easy to lose but very hard to regain. Niger called his bluff and it showed that Nigeria is an empty drum making loud noise..

All his policies till now were failure because no real thought process was put into it....

I pray this country grows but this government can never bring the needed growth.

His political opponents, the naysayers and unpatriotic elements are so clueless and filled with so much negativity and bigotry that they had no clue, didn't see this surprise coming that this is part of the reasons he lifted the sanctions.

Asiwaju will always be ahead of you. $1.3 billion inflow is huge! So much jobs to be created and Niger Republic can now be using mostly our ports in Lagos including the Lekki deep seaport, to import all their national import needs and sea freight. Congrats Nigeria.

God bless you my dear brilliant, visionary and hardworking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!

They no longer call it loans.
You take a loan from China to build infrastructure, and still give the construction contract to China. Thereafter China may still be the one managing and profiting from it until the loan is fully paid, by Which time the infrastructure would have deteriorated to the point that a new loan from China will be needed to repair the place, and guess who the contract goes to...

The rail to Niger is nothing but a pathway to terrorism into Nigeria from the Middle East. There is no viable use for it as Niger has not shown stability or the ability to secure their own country. They better return this foolish loan and open all the borders including Cotonou for products that have become expensive.

Nothing has been heard from this one until now that the Niger border was opened. This really shows his priority. Nothing heard from him about connecting other towns and cities to the existing new railway line. His only priority is Niger republic. That ministry has been in sleep mode since Amaechi left. He was the only one that brought life to that ministry. Even some of the existing railway terminaos are yet to be completed infrastructure wise. Some have untarred roads leading to the new terminals. Some; no signboard showing the location of the new stations. This current Minister seems not sure of what he's doing.

Was there any MOU signed by both countries that Niger must use Nigeria ports for her import and export to start with?

The minister is very wise, you want him to keep building what bokoharam and fulani herdsmen will destroy tomorrow?
God forbid, we have to stop building project in the north until all terrorist are eliminated.
They need security and food not project, that place is not safe.
Let's tell ourselves the truth and stop wasting Nigeria money, they should use the money to build in places that are safe.
Why should they build what terrorist will destroy?

Those questioning Nigeria's sovereignty make sense. Any individual who thinks of it long enough - regardless of whether the individual is naturally delusional -would concede that, overall, any railway from Nigeria to Niger Republic advantages Niger Republic above Nigeria. From this they should conclude that the rail line is for Niger Republic not Nigeria. The question then arises why is Nigeria borrowing money for a railway meant for Niger Republic ? The obvious answer would be that Niger Republic asked Nigeria to loan money to build railway for Niger Republic that encroaches into Nigeria, money that Niger Republic could not borrow because Niger Republic wasn't credit worthy enough. Worst, it may be that a none African nation that owns Niger Republic ordered Nigeria to pay for a railway line for her asset Niger Republic. A railway line into Nigeria that benefits that none African nation and Niger Republic and, humiliatingly, Nigeria must foot the bill.

He who orders you to slap yourself, and you had to do so, absolutely owns you!
