Talk is cheap. If that be the case our air ways will be filled with helicopters. Build walls around our country borders, make education compulsory, create employment, and see crime drop

The Fulani who engage in this industrial
scale criminal activities are unemployable.

👉By nature, they don't go to school, even
when a Nomadic Education Board was
created to solve this problem, they remain adamant.

👉 They refuse to learn any trade.

👉 They don't farm

👉 They do not trade.

👉They just like hanging in the bush as
petty criminals until Buhari came and
gave them license to kill and abduct.

Equipment that we already have is what you want to purchase again?

Believe Nigeria politicians at your own risk.

These guys can lie for Africa

And he will say they bought those things with billions of dollars.

What a shame

Yet the police maintains an expensive private jet for it's top executives.
Nothing to show for the huge allocation expended on the security forces. More shameful is the DSS.
Just a small disciplined Isreali unit can take over this country.

It seems Wiked wants to cash out. AGAIN. Otherwise why are Nigerians forced into NIN identification linked to cell phone numbers? The cell phone is a blipping tracking device in its own right!

1-CCTV in all Petrol station and Major areas

2-Anybody getting in a suspicious vehicle should take a picture of the car with the license plates visible. Send the pictures to a police database (Created by the police ) or to a close family members or a group chat.
That way the same car and plates cannot be used twice. Either they have to repaint the car or change the plates. Prevents the one chance kidnappers to use the same vehicle every night.

3-Better still the driver, will text the passenger with his license plates number/phone number, the intending passenger will forward the text to a trusted person. If anything happens to the passenger, the trusted person has the phone number and license plates of the driver. This takes 5 minutes. All drivers should display their numbers for passengers to crosscheck.

4-Make every commercial vehicle carry a barcode sticker. Passengers scan it with their phone before they enter. Scan is uploaded simultaneously, if the person is declared missing. I can tell you the last vehicle there were in under 5 mins.

5-You can geo-fence your phone, If you travel from gwarimpa to wuse everyday. The day you travel outside this zone to Suleja, your phone will automatically send your location texts every 5 mins to a pre-designated number till the phone dies. If you are kidnapped, just ask the kidnappers to turn on your phone, so you can get the number to call for ransom, once you turn on phone it will send location to pre-determined number immediately.

There are so many cheap technology, to curb kidnap and one chance, Get a few technology inclined people together, they will come up with a solution in less than 24 hours.[/b]

Wouldn't this info galvanize more crime like kidnaping and banditry in FCT since the authority is coming out to say they don't have adequate tracking and surveillance equipment for security?

He should have just kept quite while secretly trying to procure these equipments after presidential approval. After it has been procured, installed and working efficiently, he can now make the announcement but he choose to be garrulous about such security info.

Boldideas:

Ensure they're weaponized drones.

Here is the list of the 10 Most Dangerous Drones In The World

1. MQ-9b Sky
2. TAI Aksungur
3. Gongji-11 Sharp Sword
4. Sukhoi S-70 Okhotnik-B
5. EADS Barracuda
6. Avenger
7. Kratos XQ-58 Valkyrie
8. Northrop Grumman X-47B
9. CAIG Wing Loong II
10. Dassault nEUROn

I saw this somewhere, it is also good for FCT..
https://ledsolarlight.store/mufasa-2/

It will be counterproductive, I fear, to purchase weaponised drones. The kidnappers are already using their victims as human shields. You can't guarantee that you won't kill innocent victims.
The drone initiative is a great one. At least we will be able to locate perpetrators in good time.
One other thing we should have done long ago, is geofencing - areas prone to attack by terror mongers could be sprinkled with motion detectors (and these technologies are very cheap) such that mass mobilisation of perpetrators through the bush will trigger silent alarms and the intended victims will have been warned hours before they arrive.

I understand your point. However, we have been ruled by a general for the past 8 years of horrific terrorism, and it is sad that no one budgeted for drones. What were they using the huge sums budgeted to counter terrorism to buy?
If he breaks security protocol and goes ahead to procure the equipment, it's still better.

The truth is that the security agencies know all these things. There is nothing new to them. It is their job and they are very well trained.

However one cannot but wonder why the security agencies fail so shamelessly. How can we not doubt that there is a very massive scale of complicity on their part? How can terrorists repeatedly abduct such large populations of people and successfully herd them into forests with ease?

Wike has said the way forward. Since security agencies cannot include drones and trackers in their budgets, then they need assistance from other government departments and well meaning Nigerians. My fear again is that the equipment could be sabotaged by some members of the security agencies.

Corruption has truly done unquantifiable harm to this country.

This is an indictment to the office of the Director General of DSS and the Inspector General of Police: that it was a 'bloody civilian' that knew what they actually need and made a request for it. This shows the heads of our security agencies either don't know their job or are not serious

What do they mean by "tracking device"
for this matter❓❓❓

What we need is helicopter squads in
the kidnap endemic areas for rapid response
to distress calls night or day.

Once we have helicopter emergency
response squads in Abuja, Kaduna,
Zamfara and Kaduna, once kidnappers
strike, the squad is notified and they
take off with armed men and Apache style
military helicopter, they can be at the
location within 30 minutes, while a ground

So long as we don't change tactics, these

Pantami the terrorist scammed us.
The enforcement measures when he was minister by ensuring Nigerians link NIN to BVN with the excuse of tracking kidnappers and by making it mandatory for Nigerians gather at various NIMC offices during the covid 19 pandemic to register their NIN so as to fight insecurity happened to be bogus measures of fighting insecurity. People contracted COVID and died during those enforcement measures yet it's a pity that nothing good was derived

I agree with you my brother.

Well done comrade, Nigerian politician will prefer the long distance grammar to allow for embezzlement, that's the reason they held the country down for decades, no lights, no fuel, no water,no food, no education, no security, etc

But the allocation budgetary is available.

country is failing on all fronts except in
corruption and child bearing..

The same type of dirty ragtag Fulani bandits
are holding a population of over 200m to

apart from talking & useless meetings..

I'm sure a person like you is also happy
that Betty Edu is being cleared by EFCC

The Police Force is well equipped.. what H.E Wike should say is they need to get additional tracking equipment to combat insecurity in the country.

Steal big man phone and enter ground first.. na then you go know say police tracking na ogbonge.
