GOOD DEEDS.

‭‭Matthew 6:1-4 NLT‬‬

[1] “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. [2] When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.

3] But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. [4] Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.


Charity or good deeds is rewarded by God if the motive is right and to glorify the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today in our society many act of good will people are doing is contrary to God's pattern of doing it. There are two things in question here one is an act to glorify God which is done secretly and the other is to attract self gratification from people which is done publicly and the reward comes from men.

It's not bad for someone to open up a business to make profit therefore using the social media platforms to enhance it , but when it comes to doing good to the poor it is better to follow God's principles of giving in other to be blessed by God.

Remember God loves a cheerful giver when it comes from a pure and genuine mind. Let business be handled as business and Charity as Charity. All this are powerful truth that can set us free from bandage. May the Lord bless us as we honour his words 🙏
