Atiku’s Ambition Is Affecting The Growth Of PDP – NPSA President, Hassan Saliu by Man102: 7:59am On Mar 21
The president of the National Political Science Association of Nigeria (NPSA), Prof. Hassan Saliu, has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of stifling the growth of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Atiku was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2019 and 2023 elections, and there are indications that he will contest again in the 2027 polls.

Speaking to Punch, Prof Saliu said, “Atiku’s ambition is affecting the growth of the PDP. We follow the debate and the controversy.

“The issues in the PDP before the presidential primary, and even after the presidential primaries, those issues are still there. They have not faded away.

“So, the only way to give PDP a semblance of unity is for Atiku to drop his ambition. There are too many issues surrounding Atiku’s ambition.

“Given his age, if he comes out to contest for president under the PDP next time, I don’t know what will happen to the PDP before that time. But I am assuming that decision may not go down with people at PDP. It is time for Atiku to look at the political temperature and advises himself accordingly.

“Atiku’s interest will not supersede the interests of the PDP; each time this man emerges as a presidential candidate, there are always issues that will eventually affect the chances of the party. This is the right time for Atiku to allow the PDP to breathe fresh air.”

Una never see anything...!

When I tell people that Atiku singlehandedly cost PDP that election last year, they stupidly choose to blame Obi instead.

They conveniently forget the massive role Wike and his co-travellers played as well.

If he buys that mandate again come 2027, Jagaban will have a landslide victory (not like Jagaban is in any danger of losing his reelection come 2027).

Atiku is a greedy and selfish politician.. politicians should learn to read the room and give space for other or younger people in the party. Atiku and Tinubu should be elder statesmen not presidential aspirants..

Atiku and those who sold the presidential ticket to him were the ones who killed PDP and gave Tinubu an easy win.

How can a northerner spend 8 years and you cede your ticket to another northerner, knowing fully well that Nigerians won't like to do 16 years of back to back northern presidency.

This is why I don't oppose Nyesom Wike's anti-party sentiments. They really messed up.

This is true! National/Party ambition turned out to be a personal one. Atiku is in the business of ensuring the comatosed PDP is finally buried ⚰

Very TRUE talk.😕

In 2023 Election, INEC even stole Peter Obi's votes and gave them to him. undecided

Otherwise how did Peter Obi/LP win Goodluck Jonathan Polling Unit but lost Bayelsa state to Atiku/PDP

What has Atiku pple done for Bayelsa, for them to Vote him?

Same as Akwa-Ibom, what was Atiku ever done for them that they voted him? sad

INEC/APC simply gave lots of PETER OBI's Votes to Atiku to prevent Obi,
from taking Second position because they were Afraid of Suffering Chris Ngige Fate of 2006. embarassed undecided
