Third World, for a reason.

Go closer, you'll find politicians wining and dining lavishly on the commonwealth that should have bettered the lot of the common man including that of themselves.

This is not a good example, I'm sure the spoilt bridge will be repaired, this can't be a normal way of going to school for a long time, unlike here in Nigeria where you'll have to go thru the hard way for years. But wait a minute, why we de even do like say suffering is something to brag about?

Why not bring out ya own Nigerian video where small children are swimming to go to school like this.

Have you ever challenged your area councilor for bad governance?

When you think your condition is bad, there are hundreds of such that are worse than yours. We just really need to be thankful to God in all conditions.

If your kids have ever grumbled about walking to school, just let them watch this video, shocked and they'll quickly realize their journey isn't so tough after all.

In a startling scene, children in Fiji are seen swimming across a turbulent river just to reach their classrooms.

The footage, shared widely on social media, shows groups of schoolchildren in their uniforms bravely navigating the swift current to reach the opposite bank.

This incident took place on the main Fijian island of Vita Levi, up in the Sigatoka Valley at the Wainiagwai stream, which eventually joins the Wainimala river.

This situation arose because the bridge, usually positioned further downstream, was washed away during floods.

I teased one local grassroots lawmaker that came to my office about it one day and you know what he said? He said the traditional rulers who galvanized the people to make sure they voted for him the lawmaker would rather have the money allocated ti the community shared among him and his chiefs than being used for meaningful infrastructural development. Unless you don't want reelection. So most of the time it now boils down to doing good and being forced out of the system, or playing ball and continuing your career
