I blame the people of niger delta region for allowing people from other side to come and destroy their land. Many northerns and south westerns are behind the oil bunkery in niger delta. Many of the military men are involved too. Many of the staff of nnpc, dpr, nupeng etc.Our boys are only good in guiding pipi lines while abokis and yorubas are good in owning oil wells and companies. Our people supposed fight for total control of our natural resources the way zamfara is controlling her gold depot. 1 Like 1 Share |

SoNature: Don't mind him! He is chewing his words and can't name those involved because most of them are are also involved! Who knows Niger-Delta better, than the People of the Region themselves and many are just in the Bunkering, like day to day business and they see is as their own God given resources! Pointing accusing finger to Abuja or Lagos personallity, without naming them one after the other is an act of cowardice! e.g. Buhari paid excess Crude Oil Money between( 2020- 2023 ) to ALL the Niger-Delta Governors before he left ,yet only Governor Wike, call the Press Conferences to tell the Country what he used the Money for,the rest were silent and information on those that took the State Money to establish University for personal wellbeing, even the Nigeria- Deltans People kept quiet, instead of calling their Governors out to Accounts for such Corruption ! No be JuJu be that! 2 Likes |

Islie:The indigenes from the creeks of Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers States (especially Ijaws) are also deeply involved in major oil thefts via an international cartel that engages in illegal bunkering and dangerous illegal refining of stolen crude oil that further pollutes the immediate Niger Delta environments with deadly smoke and soot as witnessed in the PH area. A lot of pollution of the Niger Delta comes from these activities aside from the occasional oil spills from the major oil companies. This is one of the reasons why many of them have divested from onshore production and moved to the deep offshore. Back in the 2000s, Goverment Ekpemupolo (also called Tompolo) and others were major pipeline vandals and used the proceeds of the stolen oil to buy weapons from foreign weapons cartels to engage in militancy and kidnappings. It was the amnesty program that made it possible for Tompolo and others to become overnight Naira billionaires with the pipeline protection contracts in the 2010s under the Presidency of Goodluck Jonathan. Senator Seriake Dickson's biological sister too got kidnapped for a whole 2 months when he was the Governor of Bayelsa State, so, the issues in the Niger Delta areas can be resolved through devolution of powers to the states, tracking crude oil production with oil meters, and tracking how much money is spent for development by politicians and elected office holders at state and LGA levels... and also dealing with the drug dealers fueling drug usage among the youths in the local communities. |

The crude oil sector in Nigeria is in dire need of reform. It's a shame that despite being blessed with abundant natural resources, our country continues to lag behind while others like Norway and the UAE have leveraged their oil wealth to develop diversified economies. The problem lies in the pervasive corruption and theft that plague our oil industry. Instead of using oil revenues to benefit the entire nation, a few individuals are lining their pockets through illicit activities like oil theft and bunkering. It's outrageous that some of these individuals then have the audacity to squander the stolen funds on expensive medical treatments abroad, when that money could have been invested in improving healthcare infrastructure at home. Nigeria stands at a crossroads, and it's time to take decisive action to clean up the oil sector. One approach could be to introduce greater transparency and accountability by issuing licenses for midstream ventures and listing them on the stock market. By allowing ordinary Nigerians to invest and receive dividends from the oil industry, we can ensure that the benefits are shared more equitably across society. Moreover, by offering substantial monthly dividends, we can incentivize widespread participation and make everyone feel like they have a stake in the industry. This sense of ownership can help foster a culture of collective responsibility, where communities are motivated to safeguard oil infrastructure and report illegal activities. We cannot afford to let the elites continue to plunder our natural resources unchecked. It's time to level the playing field and ensure that the wealth generated from our oil resources benefits all Nigerians, not just a privileged few. By implementing reforms that promote transparency, accountability, and inclusive economic participation, we can finally put an end to the scourge of oil theft and build a brighter future for our nation. |

Smile, I'm not surprised at all because we are aware even the military personnel that were killed were not innocent. They feed fat from oil 🛢️🪔 bunkering that is why they were quick to meddle in community conflict, which eventually led to their demised. |

"Why should a country like Nigeria that has been producing oil, exporting oil for the past 70 years not have a scientific way of metering, recording what leaves, what is pumped, what is sold and what is not sold? And it’s deliberate". The above got my attention |
Everyone who can steal Nigerian crude oil steals it, including local people, politicians, business men, foreigners, etc. Seriake is being economical with the truth because everyone who lives in the Delta region knows this fact. Seriaki mentioned the BIGGEST OIL THIEVES and he's correct. The local theft is just a drop in the ocean of that STOLEN by these HIGHLY PLACED OFFICIALS and can be stopped in minutes. If the president has the political will to allow our oil to be TAGGED and tells the world that ANYWHERE they see our oil without that supplied via OPEC QUOTA, they should REJECT AND REPORT AS STOLEN, the theft will end in a MONTH. But WILL HE?. If he won't, doesn't it suggest that he and his cronies are also complicit?. Do they still have the right to be making NOISE about OIL THEFT?. Go figure!!!. |
