I had to quote all of you on Front page capping dust
President Tinubu met the fuel price at 169,he took it up to around 700 and now brought it down to 540
The dollar was 700, when he got there, he almost tripled it. Now it is around 1200.
A bag of rice.... You know that pitiful story.

I just need to update you guys that, before you people start capping nonsense, tell President Tinubu that he should at least put these necessities to the prices they were at before.
Then If he truly can be a good "PRESIDENT",
He can then bring down the prices from there.
Otherwise, all of you are cappers saying rubbish.
🤝

Simple.

But then again, you are dealing with the real enemies of Nigeria.

I bought it for 1,550 naira at one NNPC station while another filling station is selling for 1,450 naira.

I was expecting it will go down to 900 - 1,000 naira but behold 1,2...what?

What is the benefit of Dangote refinery when we already envisaged it will come down to 1,200 naira due to improving fx even when we are importing?

This is just rip off. Not really excited about the news.

Where did you see in the report that petrol will be supplied at N1225/litre? And also where did you see them state that diesel is yet to be supplied by Dangote?

Are you sure you read the report at all?

No one should celebrate any monopolist they are enemies of consumers and nation in general. Let the government encourage many producers, if possible let the government assist them with loan as emefele did to dangote himself. This is the only time we can celebrate, not one monopolist.

So what was the essence of apc condemning the pdp if it was just going to be worse than the pdp it criticised?

Every nation needs a blueprint or else you end up building rail lines to maradi when your country's own rally links are underdeveloped.

The exchange rate as at 1999 was about 90 to a dollar, I don't know where you got your N22 from.

Atiku and emefile, who is worse?

Bottom line is that Nigerias were better off under the pdp than they are today.

It is ridiculous that what people condemned under the pdp is now acceptable.

I already told you. Politicians is your problem, not pdp or apc.
But if you are talking about party, pdp shouldnt be compared to apc in anyways when it comes to success and failure.

Pdp is like 99% failed party that absolutely failed the country. They didn't do anything right and shouldn't be allowed close to power unless you are a genn z who didn't witness the impunity of pdp.

Apc is not a good party either but they are saint compared to pdp and they have outperformed them 100-1 when it comes to infrastructure or all indices of governance you can think about.

Atiku was vice president ( most corrupt vice president in the history of the country) and he is not an appointee.

Emifiele is a useless appointee of pdp that buhari didn't have the balls or economic brain to fire.

Why are you comparing the two?

I don't know what you meant by your last statement but can you tell us what was not acceptable under pdp but acceptable now?

Many people lack economic knowledge and only open thier mouth to complain always. Whatever price it is , is not final. There is always room for more reduction. You expect them to start selling at 100 naira. Let's appreciate little gains. If it was 2k per litre we would still complain and buy so which is better? In any economy price increase always happen more quickly and marginally than when there is a decrease.

Dangote will import crude.

The good people of Nigeria are happy that at least very soon we will not be exporting crude and importing refined products. That is a major milestone, reduction in price is secondary.

Now there are people who will work in the refinery, those people will inturn take care of their dependants, many will rent houses in that axis thereby driving economic activities.

With more people having better purchasing power, hotels, super markets, recreational centres and many other businesses will open up in that area to service the people who work there.

Another area people forget is that Dangotte will also be exporting it, if that happens, we will also have diversified a little and have another source of foreign exchange.

Refinery will need supplies, people with business sense are already taking up positions to provide services.

There will be a lot of consulting firms also taking up positions.
If you cannot support good things happening and open your mind to progress, you will continue to be redundant and even transmit your negativity to your kids.

I thought so too but reality is that most Nigerians are dubious and wicked, if it reduces that low, they will start smuggling the product to neighbouring countries where the prices are higher thereby creating artificial scarcity in Nigeria. And artificial scarcity will then knock the prices back up to what they wanted.

For price of goods to reduce the government needs to set up price control mechanism because Nigerian traders won't on their own reduce prices significantly

Dangote will import crude.

The crude import will not have significant impact.

Importation of crude from the US is a market strategy.

Ask yourself, why dangote go all the way to US when Libya, Ghana, sierra Leon, saotome Principe can easily supply the crude we need in short distance and time?

Dangote deliberately import US crude so that he can export refined oil to US because US will not allow anybody to turn it to dumping ground. If you must export refined oil to US, you must import US crude.

Look who is talking about genZ. Very laughable. If you had responsibilities and had legitimate earnings between 1999 and 2014 and then 2014 till date, you won't be saying what you are saying.

Except of course for people who reap from the rudderless party that is apc.

Guy, I read that guys post yesterday...I was just laughing because I knew the truth that sales would start proper this month based on the IPMAN Charmian's interview he had some weeks ago.. Nigerians and lies

seborrhic:
Good.
Let prices of things come down and the ₦ appreciates further,at least even if to the ₦650 BAT met it.
The way people on all sides of the Nigerian divide lie with full chest, particularly on nairaland,is astounding.
When this news first broke yesterday of start of sale, one guy posted with all confidence and anger yesterday, that his younger sister works in the refinery and she told him that the refinery is still at the testing of departments or is it even machinery stage.
Nigerians and lies are inseparable, yet Fridays they troop to the mosque,Sunday to the church.
