President Gej Not Convincing Enough In His Submissions ! by Demdem(m): 8:17am On Nov 17, 2011
President Goodluck Jonathan’s bid to convince National Assembly members to support the removal of fuel subsidy – which is expected to gulp about N1.5 trillion this year alone – failed at first attempt Wednesday.

THISDAY learnt that most of the lawmakers were not persuaded by the president’s presentation and advised him to focus on the security situation in the country first.

The meeting at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa was attended by all members of the National Assembly from both chambers, with the Senate refuting a report that it was planning to pass a vote of no confidence on the president.

A lawmaker told THISDAY last night that the meeting, which lasted a little over an hour, was marred by “unconvincing reasons” by the president to remove the subsidy.

“The president advanced reasons ranging from the fact that the country’s economy could collapse within months if the subsisting subsidy on petroleum products were not removed now, but he failed to convince the lawmakers. He was not punchy; he was not convincing and nobody bought his reasons,” said the source.  shocked shocked shocked

The president was also said to have solicited the support of the lawmakers despite the pin drop silence that pervaded the hall.

Senate President David Mark was said to have mildly told Jonathan  angry angry angry: “We have heard what you said sir, but we have to go back and digest the message. In any case, we urge you to do something about the security situation in the country. That is the most important thing for now.”

Jonathan was also told to make himself “clearer” with “facts and figures” at the next meeting scheduled for today at 2.30pm.

The Retardeen's dumbness is getting clearer by the day for all to see. For those of you who still cant see it Goodluck to you.

Can you just imagine? He couldn't sell his thoughts or plan to a bunch of friendly men and women who are mostly from his party. Wasn't he passionate enough about the plan or he could not just articulate it due to lack of sound understanding? Anyway, a lame idea will always be a lame idea; that's why it fainted (not yet dead) on arrival.

In the meantime, it would do Mr Jonathan (and the country) a lot of good to heed the advice of the lawmakers: do something urgent about the security situation first.

He cant be passionate about what his brain cant even completely fathom. he simply doesnt even understand it. "Prime minister" Ngozi probably would have done a better job in a crooked way.
Bottom line is NO to fuel subsidy removal.

Security = in shambles (GEJ's closest pal Rigin whose serial incompetence remains a big daily revelation still sits as the IG)

Corruption = in the dustbin (GEJ wont kick wont get rid of Farida because she protected GEJ's wife after she laundered Bayelsa's money. The EFCC is not what it used to be. I have a friend who works there tell me that the current EFCC will drag a politician before the public just for public entertainment, and everything is just for show. Most of those they have in detention are secretly driven to choice hotels in the evening and driven back to the detention office in the early morning. Meaning: the EFCC is just a public theatre designed to make the West think we have leaders who hate corruption. Ta!)

Our Roads: Riddled with pot-holes, and yet the bastardio in power wants to build toll-gates on it.

Electricity = The military now run that sector grin I am dead sure in the next 3 years, this guy will keep blaming the cabals for its failure.

Subsidy removal = is MUST while the nation's politicians steal twice of this amount within a MONTH. Whats wrong with sharing the subsidy with them. Too much money is that bad, aint is it?

I am sad for my country. You f00ls brought this shocking calamity on yourself. Wish you all the best. Thank God, in NOT IN Nigerians. Big sigh.

Subsidy removal is not a lame idea. He is just too dumb to convince anyone on anything.

He made it lame then. The idea is also lame because the timing and other surrounding circumstances are not conducive.

Yeah. The security situation of the country is precarious, the lawmakers are quite aware of the consequences of creating masses' unrest at this time, especially one that is capable of uniting the people against the government.

So it's not the idea, its self-preservation on the part of the lawmakers. understandable though.

If he had been allowed to post Ngozi's subsidy thoughts in his FB pages to senators, he would have been articulate.

Now you can see why he prefers FB to face to face.

"If subsidy is not removed, the economy will collapse in 3months"
Indeed grin grin grin grin

You should not be the one making this analogy. It's not apt from your standpoint.

When vultures gather, there's usually a dying animal or a carcass in sight. Who is dying or dead here? - GEJ?

Its so pathetic that in this type of country we tend to force a square peg in a round hole. This man has nothing to offer except what being advice to do. He has no knowledgeable mind of his own, he is not informed and equip with debatable facts, he's not vast and expose, he's not deep, smart and intelligent at all. He lacks quality and reasoning potency, he's lukewarm and doll, very slow and odious.
He's not motivating and encouraging at all. He lacks the ability to queue in the right words at the right time- not coordinated, calculated and concise.
I am very disappointed, US can not av this type of president.

I believe if he has quality, he would have found another justify way and manner Nigeria can take around fuel subsidy and how it wont affect anybody, but look at the cause PDP vultures have brought our way. He his simply reading what other people wrote down and cant even read confidently. He was not taught reading comprehension in primary school nor read "Edet goes to school", "Simbi is a girl"," Ali is a Boy". ahhhh we are in for it

Nigerian get the leaders they deserve, "We voted for GEJ and not PDP"  grin, well here is GEJ and he clearly had shown that he lacked the balls by telling an american ambassador that he wasn't qualified for the post. He's all about luck and great men aint the lucky men, they worked their balls off to be great, its time we stop having people who didn't prepare for such positions occupy them.

GEJ clearly is not fit to lead otueke not to talk of a culturally diverse country like Nigeria, "START THE REVOLUTION NOW" undecided
