LASBCA Denies Detaining Staff, Damaging Property At St. Magret School by Agebab: 8:21pm On Apr 07
LASBCA denies detaining staff, damaging property at St. Magret School

The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) on Sunday debunked media reports that it wrongfully detained and damaged properties of St. Magret Group of Schools.
The Director Public Affairs, LASBCA, Mr Olusegun Olaoye, described the reports as false and should be disregarded.
Olaoye noted that officers of the agency visited the school for a routine inspection of renovation works and to ensure compliance with building regulations.
He said, “St. Magret School along Ebute Road, Ikorodu was visited by officials of the Agency on the March 27, 2024, during a routine monitoring at about 12:48 pm.
” The exercise was for the purpose of ascertaining the renovation works found to have been carried out in the school premises, to ensure compliance with the regulatory provisions of the law.”
Olaoye claimed that the school administrator became aggressive, insulted the officers, confiscated and damaged their phones, and detained them for over three hours.
Olaoye alleged that the administrator organised an attack on the enforcement team that arrived to rescue the officers.
He insisted that the agency’s officers acted appropriately.
According to him, there is a video evidence to support the agency’s claim.
He stated that the school administrator and others were arrested on charges of assault and obstruction.
Olaoye emphasised the agency’s commitment to fairness and the legal system.
He said, ” We believe the truth will come out through proper investigation and legal proceedings.”
He therefore, reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to professionalism and accountability.
