Ofunaofu: So, you don't know that as at when Tinubu was fighting for democracy and was on exile, Peter Obi took an appointment from Abacha? No wonder you always type trash. You're so ignorant. 2 Likes 1 Share |

AmotekunSW: Tinubu fought for no democracy. He actually fought for his personal pocket. He betrayed MKO Abiola and went behind to ask for a commissioner post from Abacha, which was rejected. Maybe that rejection by Abacha is what you are describing as fighting for democracy.

WizardOfNG: From your assessment you don't know Peter Obi. Tinibu with the resources available to him as Lagos state governor can't be compared to Obi as a governor of Anambra state. In what aspect can you compare Tinibu to Obi in terms of governance? Education? Both were governors at the same era Obi received global award because of his stride in education. You are just saying trash. Obasnjo allowed Tinibu. He knew that Tinibu was fighting for his pocket. Obasnjo supported Obi, just as Tinibu received support from many people. Obi fought Godfather, won his gubernatorial mandate stolen by PDP in court in a country ruled by PDP. A rare thing in Nigerian politics. You must be a fool if you can't use your data and research before coming on line. |

For over two years, the agitation over the exponential rise in the rate of dollar had been a regular subject of debate among political class, elite, academics , artisans, traders and even street boys. For over three weeks now, naira has been very consistent, as it gains heavily against USD. Today, USD plunges to #1100 in the parallel market, but the greediness in the marrows of our people are forcing Nigerians to perpetual suffering. Before the surge, when USD rose to #1100, a bag of cement cost #4600 but today at the same #1100, it cost #8400. The prices of food are so high that a cup of garri in the south west now cost #150, and bag of rice cost 78000 as against #30 and #42000 they were sold when USD rises to the same #1100. Government need to be proactive and think on how to bring the dividends of this naira gain to the doors of poor masses. This gain should not be hijacked by some greedy business men, who claimed the cost of replacement when USD rises, but claimed old stocks when USD fall. Government should embark on price control so that Nigerians can be happy again, price of goods should be fixed by them with due consideration for logistics and other miscellaneous. Food market should be saturated, with each state governor been accountable to his people. In order words, government could create an healthy competition which will force this crooks in business succumbs. Nigeria is not for the rich alone, let the poor breathe. |
