Naira abuse: Court grants Cubana Chief Priest N10m bail

The Federal High Court in Lagos State, on Wednesday, granted businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, N10m bail with two sureties in like sum.

Earlier, the celebrity bar man pleaded not guilty to tampering and abusing the naira during his trial.

Cubana Chief Priest was arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three counts bordering on abuse of naira by allegedly spraying and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social event, contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

He was alleged to have sprayed the naira on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel.

Cubana Chief Priest was said to have also committed the offences while dancing during a social event.

He was said to have tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 notes issued by the CBN by spraying the same for two hours.

Immediately?

I believe the arrest is a smokescreen. These people operate with unbelievable strategies.

Meanwhile, EFC* is the headquarter of selective justice in Nigeria. Ex governors and senators embezzle a lot but don't get hunted unless for political reasons.

Even the money he spread was more then #10million.

Meanwhile, in the case of Bobrisky, it's more like the government are tired of his bad influence to the young generation then decided to use spreading of naira and nailed him. grin

Efcc is an organisation that lacks focus and should be shut down. The agency has no tangible achievements. Hadi sirika. Ganduje. Immediate past governors are all living large after cashouts. So many things efcc should look into. But they are not

Who is advising this guy's lawyer, plead guilty and you're back in 6 months. This case might take 2 years, he will spend money and still not win it.

Spraying Naira is the least of all our problems

It is national tragedy to be wasting scarce resources prosecuting someone for spaying Naira while politicians who stole billions, people who are stealing crude, kidnappers, bandits and terrorists are going about free
