The Igbos that managed the Nigerian economy during GEJ's tenure have proven themselves to be the very best in Nigeria. Since Tinubu and Buhari shut Igbos out of economic management of the nation, the country has fallen flat. Statistics don't lie. The Lagos boys have shown what they are really all about. All thanks or no thanks to Buhari. That man crashed Nigeria's economy by his I-don't-care attitude, coupled with Emefiele who was out to pump our dollars into the pockets of Buhari's Fulani henchmen (Dangote is number 1) so as not to be sacked. 3 Likes |

LOVEALAIGBO: Now that they don't want to eat statistics, what will the now eat, statistics and data is what drives the economy of the modern world and not propaganda. It seems this man will enter the Guinness book of world record as the most incompetent person to ever assume a leadership position ever in the history of the world. Nothing is working again, there is problem in the electricity sector, the telecoms industry is gone, transportation is gone, food and agriculture is gone, construction is gone breweries and bottling companies are shrinking, manufacturing companies are shrinking. As I am typing this the sit out lounges and eateries are going. 3 Likes |

For me, when I reviewed this GDP stat, what was concerning was productivity per capita. If you stripped out Nigeria's GDP off oil, You'll see how unproductive the Nigeria population is. We need a leader to liberate the populace from dormancy. And also the citizen should be bothered about this instead of marking attendance on nairaland. 3 Likes 1 Share |

OfoIgbo:For as long as the spirit of owambe has not left a Yoruba man, never trust him with your economy. This is why many of them cannot groom a retail business. They are good in manufacturing anyway. But an average Igbo man can swim through the ocean of business ruggedity wether manufacturing or the hardest of them retail. Igbos can build money 1 Like |

During GEJ'S regime, the price of oil was around 100 to 130, that's why the gdp was rising like anything It was when the oil price crashed, round about the same time the gdp was high, that the problems began. It's called the oil shock. Now, buhari and even tinubu could have done better in prepping for the oil shock. They could have floated the naira and removed subsides in 2015 and also improved tax intakes as well They didn't do both. Instead, they kept subsides, kept naira on a fixed rate and as a result we lost money Gdp fell. Ultimately, our main issue is we too dey rely on oil money. Nigerian economy has always been vulnerable. Even under gej. Plus if gej had floated the naira and removed subsides totally in 2010, that gdp in 2014 could have been around 1 trillion dollars I ain't here to attack any party or tribe. My major concern is Nigeria gets off oil dependency and diversifies. |
