Can we say that pronouncement was made to decimate the plans by Labour and TUC showdown slated for May Day or Workers day? Politics of the mouth-watering offer that may not be implemented. Before you know it, several governors in the plan will begin to make different pronouncements too! Just thinking out of the box! |

swagana: Lolz, 300k? From where? And just for arresting people in the traffic or not using pedestrian bridge, or to scatter people's markets , or for sleeping in duty or taking files and hiding it or which work exactly for 300k , Lagos has over 100000workers. Well, guaranteed 35years in service irrespective of productivity is the reason for most states and federal backwardness. If people are productive and patriotic to Thier states and the country, why not even more. 1 Like |

I think the Lagos State government is being politically deceitful on this. By law anyone who is on level one collects a minimum wage and nothing must be deducted from it. However, I know some level one civil servants in Lagos State who receive less than 30k monthly when they are supposed to collect 35k. Those who care should do their findings about this. Most people have misunderstood the governor. He didn't say the expected minimum wage is going to be 70k. He only said that if you add 35k wage award to the statutory Lagos minimum wage of 35k, it's like paying a 70k minimum wage since last year when the wage award was recommended by the President. Finally those praising Lagos State government are ignorant of the financial status of the State. This is a State that is richer than about 5 African countries put together. All American States don't pay the same minimum wage. They pay according to their economic capacity. Why can't Lagos stand out in this aspect and stop playing to the gallery? How effective has his weekly ""ounje eko" been? Will Lagos go bankrupt if transportation is heavily subsidized instead of removing a paltry 25% from BRT fares? Did he not reduce BRT fares by 50% before his re-election last year only to cancel it immediately he won. Lagos is the richest State after the Federal government. Even Ambode would have done better than Sanwoolu in terms of seeking people's welfare. 2 Likes |
