This Lagos to Calabar is a new Coastal road under construction.
This is how bright the street lights should be at night...not what they are currently installing.

Construction of a road to calabar when flights and a train can go there st this moment in time is Ill advised. Is the road that important? You country is in shammles, companies are fleeing by the day, soldiers are running away from Niger State, complaints about the military response in Okuoma, terrorists and bandits having a field day, hyper inflation and no electricity nor fuel, yet u are looking for foreign investors, who will invest more than Nigerians in their country.

Abi u no believe that the West are conversant with the atrocities in Nigeria, is it because they are just bring politically correct and don't call you fools to your faces.

You impoverish Nigerians who are the No 1 investors in their country, go
Cuddle terrorists
Tax Nigerians to death
And you expect foreign investors to come and invest.
Put your house in order. Times have changed but you choose to remain in the past

Best news of the week. Iam also happy that the compensation will be paid immediately. A direct road linking the biggest economy in Nigeria and the Oil producing regions through the coast is the best thing that can happen to Nigeria. Lots of premium land will be established and access to potenitial new sea ports will be opened.
I just hope the compensation will be equal to the value of the demolished edifice.

It is actually the demolition they are after. They have no plans to build anything. Yes they are desperate to chop money. But there are many ways to steal that are less visible.
For instance, have they paid any compensation? If so, to who and how of the total cost is for compensation? Can Umahi tell us? Can you take down a building without court order?

Due to private-public partnership, the deadline of 8 years timeline would be surely met. Anyone going to Calabar and not happy with the highway can always travel via the longer route Benin - Ore.

And the Lekki epe expressway was for not also PPP?
Was it not handled by the same tinubu and hi-tech?

Has it ever been completed for over 15 years now?

This is the Lagos Calabar Propaganda Highway of the APC Agbadorians Governmentgrin

This road will not get to 15 percent completion during the whole of Tilumbu time in office.

We have important roads like the East West road and the Benin Abuja begging for attention. Ekpoma close to AAU is an eyesore. But instead of FG to focus and complete these ones they want to start a new one.

This is like a man who builds a bungalow house to lintel level and then stops it to start a mansion. The Tilumbu led FG lacks direction. You can't govern with Propaganda undecided
This road il be used to campaign for second term n beyond, make we dey watch. Nigerian political Nollywood.

The highway will consist of 2-in-1(the road and the railway at the center).

This is a nice but a white elephant project (at best).

I hope it’s completed before 8 yrs.

Another bogus project to launder money, and there are Nigerians clamouring for this?? This is going to be the face to launder money for 15 years and above to come! This is exactly how they capture the mind of the gullible! They front such huge project and the people goes ahead to sing praises of them! While ignoring the real issue! 70 percent of the federal roads are in terrible shape, why not fix those! When will Nigerian learn! Is this really what we need right now? The Cairo Cape Town road which is longer than what Nigeria is building cost a lot less at $1.6 billion, more than octuple the price our criminal politicians are budgeting.

Igbos are the greatest scammers and drug traffickers. Baby factory, fake and adulterated products, cannibalism, rituals and your agberoism is out of this world.
It's common knowledge that all igbo men are either drug traffickers, fake and adulterated products or ritualists and cannibals.

yet you demons still managed to kill one man's lifetime's work...........I sympathize with landmark's owner.....Nigeria and agbado politics happened to him! Given that Eko Atlantic will have eventually sandfilled the waters at the beachfront.....why pass a 10 lane super duper freeway right in front of his investment! They should have in fact demolished the landmark and paid him compensation.............you left a man alive but crippled and castrated him! The evil that men do live after them!!!

The big question is... are you a yoruba man or not?

emkz:
Atiku has condemned the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway. Peter Obi has condemned it too, by stating it is better to fix old roads than build new ones.
https://www.thecable.ng/obi-lagos-calabar-coastal-highway-a-misplaced-priority-may-not-be-completed-in-30-years/

Obi previously argued that infrastructural development does not mean economic rejuvenation.
https://www.nairaland.com/7700390/peter-obi-infrastructure-cannot-economy

There is also the CEO of one resort making noise about not being consulted after he encroached into FG's land. Rufai Oseni of Arise News also spoke against the project. Same Rufai Oseni spoke against the Lagos rail project until the project started working and he had to eat his words. David Hundeyin lied that Dangote Refineries would not work until 2025.

Let us remember that all these people supported Godwin Emefiele when he manipulated the naira, killed businesses and wiped out over 20 trillion naira from the economy in a bid to frustrate Tinubu from winning the elections.

A common denominator among these people and the sudden suspicious evil political awakening in Nigeria is the hatred these people have for Nigeria! They don't like Nigeria, they never did. Their anger is fuelled by their hatred for the leadership that crashed their hopes. The Lagos-Calabar coastal highway is a project that was mooted more than 50 years ago, but never took off. As far back as 2015, Ben Ayade invited Buhari to turn the sod to begin construction, but it never took off. Instead of silly dilly-dallying through needless bureaucracy, Tinubu got the project off the ground, gave it to a Nigerian company and enemies of Nigeria are against it.

To Peter Obi:
(1) The US invested in massive infrastructural development during the Great Depression through an initiative by Franklin D. Roosevelt to spend America's way out of recession. It is senseless to argue that infrastructure does not tie to economic development.

(2) Visiting the US, you'd see a vast network of inter-state and intra-state roads, some of them needless, but most of them tolled. Along these roads, you'd find gas stations, restaurants and shops. That creates employment and revenue generation.

(3) The first of UN SDGs is reduce poverty. Any steps taken by anyone to reduce poverty, including poverty of the mind, are welcome.

To Atiku:
(1) The money for the bulk of Nigeria's development comes from the Niger-Delta. Your opposition to the project is an indication that you do not want a legacy project criss-crossing the Niger Delta because money is involved. Why do you make yourself an enemy of the Niger Delta?

(2) You claim Tinubu awarded the project to his allies, Hitech Construction, without competitive bidding. How come El Rufai accused you of fighting him over the sale of government assets to your own cronies when you were vice president and ge was BPE DG? Even Obasanjo accused you of being desperately corrupt and said he won't be forgiven if he supports you. El Rufai accused you and taunted you in his infamous book, "The Accidental Public Servant" while Obasanjo's accusations are in the public domain. If what these people said against you are not true, WHY DIDNT YOU SUE THEM FOR DEFAMATION? Perhaps you don't want more can of worms to be opened?

(3) You had a significant interest in Intels that was involved in NPA contracts. Was this proper as VP?

Then to the resort CEO. Whoever told you Nigeria's shorelines and beachfronts belong to you? If your business is in the right of way, shift it. Blackmail will not work.

To all the enemies of Nigeria, may your evil wishes upon this country never come to fruition.

Will tenants residing in rented apartments in the buildings compensated?

15 trillion is a lot, government should compensate those living in the buildings...I never heard of anyone compensated yet.

The federal government will compensate the owner of the buildings. Not the tenants.....

It is the responsibility of the owner to compensate tenants who's rents hasn't expired.

Lol...this road is not getting to Calabar. I pity the gullible Nigerian believing the dummy sold to them by Tinubu. It will end with the 1st phase when it gets to the Lekki Free Trade Zone. That us the only viable portion of the project, then it will be abandoned afterwards. The target is ti create a highway between the new commercial centre of lagos, the refinery, seaport, airport and business areas in Lekki, to the Eko Atlantic city for the Chagourys who helped to fund Tinubus campaign.

Gbamsolutely!

You have said it all with enviable precision. This hogwash project is a compensation to the Chagourys real estate enterprise.
