Gazzuzz, inasmuch as The Airline (United whatever) has to be called out for their incompetence, non-communication and lack of customer respect, I'll like to correct a little mixups with your experience.

Firstly the distance from Anambra Airport to Asaba is less than 1hour, you can verify this from daily commuters using commercial buses and passing old bridge.

Secondly the Airline uses it's own coaster buses to convey passengers from Anambra Airport to Asaba, if they don't have enough passengers for direct Asaba, I have been a victim before( Where they failed woefully is not informing you guys on time)

Least I forget, the airline coaster buses don't ply the old bridge, they use the new bridge and have armed escorts that sandwich the coaster bus(es). Pointing back to the distance of the journey, it is actually less than 1 hour from the Anambra airport to Asaba.

For the refund, hope you initiated the process at the counter and your ticket is a full refundable one.

General 2 cents: Not saying this is what happened bro, but try booking your flights yourself so all communication can get to you first hand.

Addition: You probably just needed to paint Anambra bad, however, I'll pardon you. Thank you cindypresh

God bless you. You took the words out of my mouth. May I also add that there is no rush in Anambra State on Monday. Infact I fix all my Asaba appointments on Mondays cos of free flow of traffic

You don't know what you are talking about. Benin to Asaba is 2 hours minimum and risky driving high speed in because of the way the road is curvy while umueri which has Anambra airport to Asaba is just 45 minutes with a personal car and the road is straight, you can experience traffic along Onitsha borromeo round about or upper iweki axis to the bridge. I missed driving just that I sold my car after I lost my job when gsk left Nigeria.

Oga benin to Asaba is not 2 hours.
Max 1 hour.
And like i said.
If it were other days of the week then would prefer Anambra but on a Sunday when you know there’s sit at home on Monday?

I have used both Ibom Air and Arik to Asaba

That's interesting. Never knew both lines to Asaba. It's actually not my route anyways. I plan to be there sometime next month so your response is helpful. Thanks.

After researching the owner of this airline, things easily fell into place... Na so most transporters from that side dey do angry

The spirit of "Trans-load" that has infected all Luxurious Bus Transporters from that part of the country has also infected this airline owner..

"Transload" occurs when a transport company transfers passengers from their vehicle to another to finish a journey whose t-fare they had already collected in full.. . From the get-go, they know that they are not going to reach the desired destination, but due to their greed for the complete transport fare, they will collect it in full and then make only a part of the journey, and transfer the passengers to the cheapest junk they can find to complete the journey.. All this is done without informing the passenger about their intent to transload before collecting his money..

Travelling from point A to point B uninterrupted is alien to transporters from that side of the country.. To collect money dey sweet dem die, but to finish the task agreed na problem..

I won't be shocked that if op makes too much noise in their office about getting a refund, like 4 Agbero dey on ground to comot im teeth grin.. Na their standard modus operandi be that.. Refuse to complete a contract, and then have you beaten up when you complain
You think that man is just a transporter from that side? When do you think he even got into the transportation business? Do better research on the fellow, the Dr you see there is not ceremonial. That man I met 23years ago at his vi or Ikoyi office owned one of the thriving facilities management companies in the country. Just one of his busineses. Infact if I remember right he was handling the national assembly complex amongst others.
A PhD holder, my impression of him then was a smart, educated well traveled, man of poise and finesse.

When Invictus Obi came to my uni then in 2015 to give a seminar on finance, he also came across as a "smart, educated, well travelled man of poise and finesse"... Of course we eventually discovered what kind of man he was when he was nabbed for fraud.

So rest

I'm NOT your dear, when my mother was your age, she had achieved way more than what you currently achieving. No need to drag someone who was holder of a blue passport at your age till date (if you can go find out who holds that class of passport holders).

Bye!

Was all this shalaye necessary? What's so special about the blue passport. Oh I have one for my daughter, she's just 1 year old today.

Were three obas not killed in EKITI months ago?

That act is deliberate...from Onitsha to Asaba isn't upto 5mins sef.

He simply asked you a question that's clear to everyone. We watched several videos of how unknown Gun Men backed my Ipob youths and supported by 95% igbos killed and kidnap alot of people in broad day light, and even declared every Mondays as sit at home.

But you all love lying to yourselves...

No one is saying Anambra is not safe but as stated.
It’s Sunday and there would be mad rush.

I am asaba based and even me too would prefer to be dropped in Benin than Anambra on a Sunday.

Mad rush for a one hour journey?

Anambra is safer than the Benin in question

Yeah, every wealthy businessman is invictus Obi abi? Anyway the reason it is relivant is his history and track record hence my tales of meeting this man 22 years ago, a striving, hardworking already sucessful businessman. Are you aware he is the recipient of a national honor ie OFR?
If you were in uni 2015, just few years ago, I assume it cannot be a first degree you were after, if not give respect to people that were already PhD holders when you were still playing "sucking breast".

Business ethic is in issue here Sir, not who received what national honor or who was sucking brezz when

What the airline did to the op is fraud... Plain and simple... That you think the owner of the airline is Angel Michael or Albert Einstein isn't relevant to that fact

You do not know me in real life.. So you cannot assume what I am or what I am not.. The fact that you jumped to a conclusion that I was still an undergrad in 2015 simply because I said someone came to "my uni" in 2015 says everything about your deductive reasoning.. You don't know if by "my uni, I had already graduated and I was then a post-grad student, or a lecturer there, or even the Vice Chancellor.... Heck I could even be the owner of the University I referred to as" my uni"..

Like I said earlier, you do not know me in real life.. So it's quite a stretch for you to try to bottle my social, educational or financial class simply because I think your hero's business lacks transparency ... And it is also quite a stretch for you to defend fraud by ignoring the facts on ground and hyping the airline owner's poise, panache, etc.. That's s the crudest form of gaslighting and beating around the bush...

The issue at hand is.. Wetin the airline do the op, e good? .. Address that and stop looking for who was sucking brezz in 2015.

Anambra airport to Asaba is just 1 hour 30 minutes due to stop , drop and pick. maximum on commercial vehicle but if you have a personal car then it's just 45 minutes. Since I lost my job when gsk left Nigeria, I haven't been able to travel by air since. I am just managing, it's not easy. If Asaba had good job offers then I would love to live in Asaba. I prefer Asaba to Lagos just that no job in Asaba. I missed shopping in Gabs Asaba which is cheaper than all Lagos supermarkets, shoprites, addide etc

I empathize with you, brother. As long as you don't relent it give up, I am sure you will land something bigger and better in the near future. wish you all the very best, bro

My point is that you are not in any position to assume anything about me...If I even say I was even a university fresher in 2015, how does that water down what the airline did?

Face the issue of your brother being 'sharp' with the op and leave me and anything else out of it..

But it's your kinsmen who have elevated Transload to an avenue for crookedness and premeditated and sneaky shortchanging of customers.. This kind of shady business ethic is why no one trusts you guys... For you and your kinsmen, it's always money at all cost, regardless of whose ox is gored...

If the airline knew they were going to transload the op from aeroplane to bus, why didn't they inform him of that before collecting his money?..

Till now, none of your kinsmen have answered that question.. Instead they have resorted to playing victim, finger-pointing and name calling...
You're bitter and empty, everything you people will bring tribalism and ethnicity inside, when you come to business they're people you can trust more than any other as they don't joke with that, for the airline they made arrangements for the transfer only they failed to communicate the guy earlier, the guy made it look like it's tough by saying from that airport to Asaba would take 3-4 hours, something that can't take up to an hour considering is less traffic Sunday. He also has his own motive but I tell you you can't do without the people you despise so much.
