The minimum wage in 1982 was NGN3.35( 3 naira and 35 kobo) ... the hall was 500 naira (multiple of almost 150 of minimum wage)
The minimum wage today is N30k ...I am not sure 4.5million naira will get you the same venue today

1978 payslip as a Grade Level 4, WAEC
holder, which was N89.35 kobo.

He said that at the time, minimum wage
was N60 .

The N3 you are talking about must have
been before independence and that
would have been Pounds, not Naira.⭕️⭕️⭕️

Pointless news

Dollar rate in 1982 was 0.673 naira to $1

In other words the 500 naira they used for wedding was the equivalent of $315 (500 x 0.673)


In todays terms the same $315 is 472,500 naira (315 x1500 (dollar rate today )


So both the 1982 and the 2024 weddings hall books are expensive

To see 472,500 naira too in 2024 no be beans
