Bash Ali was a Nigerian boxing legend in the 1980s and 1990s. However, since the early 2000s he has been trying to enter the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest boxing champion.

President Obasanjo initially wanted to sponsor the fight, but AIT sponsored a warm up fight against another African boxer and Bash Ali performed woefully in the fight, so Obasanjo pulled out of it. Since then he has had serious problems with every sports minister because he has been trying to force the Federal Government to sponsor his fights.

What is Bash Ali still looking for...........he was a former world champion and he has never deem it fit to produce Boxing Champions like himself from the ranks of teeming youth of this country.

What a tragedy he is....I have watched him time without number over the years embarrassing himself looking for sponsors to organise hard to believe boxing shows for himself and not the youth of this country.

If he doesn't apologize, the minister should go ahead and sue him, to teach him an eternal lesson he will not forget in his life.

This Bash Ali has become a nuisance to all sports ministers from Obasanjo's tenure to date. He even had to be carried out by security like a criminal from the sports ministry's office in a previous administration. The man no one gree his time has come and gone. In fact, the ministry is so corruption that you can never be a coach of a national team except you agree to give a percentage of your monthly salary to some people.

One of this European coaches declined the NFA job when he was given the above condition at a purported interview.

The big question is, 'Did Bash Alli record the minister making the demand?'
Let him provide evidence and sink one the profiteers of the Nigerian evil system.

Bash Ali is a scam, I have been hearing him planning to stage a fight since 1999, using this utopian fight to make money from government and prominent Nigerians. Decades ago he went round soliciting for fund to stage a fight that never materialize till day, getting donations up and down with no show, I could remember his campaign for the fight then on AIT, featuring prominent Nigerians from Obj to late Gani Fawehinmi giving him support but guyman collect money and no fight ever take place. His stock in trade is to blackmail successive sport ministers as he had many running battles with them. Mr Enoh should have ignored him as I see him as just a distraction

Terry Ray.

He won the WBC International Cruiserweight title twice in the 1980s when he lived in the US. The international title is one step below the world title. Then he defeated Terry Ray to win the WBF World Cruiserweight title in 1999 or 2000, after he returned to Nigeria.

Remember, there is a boxint alphabet soup and there are very many world titles to be won.
