Then why are we paying taxes?!?

This is a good question. The simple answer though, has been known for millenia. Print too much, and it becomes worthless.

Oya they should bring down the prize of fuel abeg. They can't be paying subsidy and fuel pump prize is over 600 naira.

It seems as if Tinubu intentionally raised fuel cost so that he will be paying more to his friends and cronies who helped him win the election . Now he is paying over 1 trillion naira as subsidy every 30days

You are right, I remember how we used to play with diesel back then as a child. But now, diesel is so expensive! It doesn't make any sense

If he returned subsidy to 195 , with landing cost at 1100, fuel subsidy would be at 800-900 naira
That means that nearly two thirds of your budget could go for subsidies
That means that at the end of the day, unless government can get a loan from IMF to cover the resulting deficits, there would be no money for projects, and salaries and other subsides for health and education
Which means that the economy could go from worst to hell on Earth.

But no, you want cheap fuel

You're making no sense, the removal of subsidy has yielded nothing. That's what the person you quoted is saying. Landing cost wouldn't get to the price you quoted if the subsidy wasn't removed and Naira wasn't floated. If you want to defend this failures in government, do it with a bit of intelligence. The present inflation in the price of commodities was caused by the two policies that was careless implemented without due diligence. The people suffered for nothing, no Money was saved, and if it was saved it is as well gone. Naira was floated only for the government to go back to backing it with Reserve after accusing Emefiele of the same thing, in similar manner fuel subsidy is back yet neither Naira nor Fuel pump price went back to their original value. The situation is very bad and as Patriotic Nigerians it's highly irrational that the masses with a large percentage of plebs among them can't afford a cup of garri no more as it's well over #200 in some parts of the country and you come on here to type rubbish from the comfort of your house. That's highly insensitive of you, children are getting malnourished and starving due to the failure you support.
Tinubu, Buhari and Soyinka claimed subsidy removal was a scam, used it as a propaganda to bundle GEJ out only for Buhari to implement it at the end of his tenure and Tinubu made a complete mess of it.
Why didn't they allow the fuel subsidy to be removed then? It was #145 and Naira was just #160. 9 years of APC and everything is in complete chaos.
Let's be humane and speak the truth at all times. PDD was corrupt but they're saints compared to the hell APC put Nigerians through.

Okay, take the debt. It's your choice.

Government has no right to set your prices.

P. S. If we had removed subsidy in 2012 we won't have been in this mess

If Nigeria can generate over 17trillions and subsidy can engulfed over 5trillions there is not bad with it, as long as prices of goods and commodities will terribly come down. Remember the fuel subsidy is the only thing a common man is getting from national treasury.

Good, but if goods and services are to come down, Production Sector / Industrial Sector should be the Focus and be at Maximum!
Let's do the analysis of the sectors that readily comes to mind:
1- Agric --low much are they Producing because we don't hear both Ministers ( Minister of State included).
This is a vast Sector that should be able to feed ALL Nigerians,if well harmonised, but none of those leaders heading the Sector is talking or are doing anything for us to lay our hands on! We only know when they spend the Annual Budgets,as usual.
2.Industries - honestly,Mrs Uzoka-has been up and down on these Industries but she is handicapped because of No -Light,as almost all industries are on Generators in Nigeria!
3.Power/ Light Sector:
•Untill we Nigerians get it into our Facility that - without Govt Fixing this All Important Sector,we can't move forward, neither can Nigeria Employe her 30% Youths - who are restless because of the Age Grades and because there is no job!
- what is the States Governors doing in providing lights?
- Where is the Power Minister-in all this? I really pity this Minister-because since independence/ Decades ago,No Improvement in this Sector- because of Corruption!
YET THIS POWER SECTOR DRIVES ALL- OTHER SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY and we are failing in Generating and Distributing Power - let us ask DISCOS - why there is no Constant Lights?
• Ghana And Republic of Benin have all Stopped -using Generators to run their businesses. How is Nigeria going to do it and move fast about it?
4.Production that is Export Driven;
- the more we Export our goods and Services, the greater the FOREX!
Even now these Products in Nigeria are few and expensive because we have had all been used to Subsidies - of the Crude Oil!

You're not!.
You said it's good that this government removed subsidy claiming landing cost would have created a huge deficit while the person you quoted was saying it would have been better it was left the way it was.
Landing cost would have almost remained the same if the Naira wasn't floated and subsidy was left in place. The change in landing cost is as a result of bad implementation of this two policies. I'm surprised at how fast you changed ur stance on your support for the government which is what you clearly did and went as far as claiming that him wanting subsidy to remain would have meant huge deficit that will strain the government to cover.
All this is not the issue at hand.
Naira is being backed yet no improvement, neither did it go back to its original value before it was floated now subsidy is as well back, almost double the amount of the past government while fuel is at over #500. This is what you should be talking about if you claim to see things as they are

Taxes are paid from actual economic activities. Before you pay tax, your must have carried out an economic activity.
But government just printing money to meet its needs will eventually make too much money to be in circulation, this will lead to crazy devaluation and inflation. Soon you'll need a full Ghana-must-go bag of naira to buy a loaf of bread.

Whats the secrets in Qatar and UaE... I believe citizens and residents don't pay taxes

I dont know why Nigerian govt dey deceive their self.Crude oil prices has been changing ,since cancellation of subsidy thereby changing landing cost.therefore it is impossible for pump price to remain same if govt is not somehow paying subsidy to maintain pric.....we go schl na so why d great lies.Meaning there is zero transparency in govt financial dealings.

FG is only paying subsidy partly according to IMF and it is temporary unlike previously.
This is the reason why allocations of states have almost trippled.
This is why FG could give awards and reason why they will be able to pay higher wages (if the states are held accountable by NLC,TUC and NGOs)
Nigeria will get better.
